When both M2 laptops have a $100 difference in their base models, choose the cheaper Air, cuz it has 2 less GPU cores and a worse brick but newer design, more ports when you’re charging it and better webcam, but when the price difference is less than $64, like in HK, and you have an iPhone for Continuity, I see little reason to go for the new Air. Only get it for function keys and design.

The way you were feeling disgusted that how I can recommend this product. Like come on dude.

If I am a professional and I have certain budget in my mind I can spend at the moment. I won’t choose good design over bad performance or user experience.

For people who actually wanna use the devices and get work done, user experience matter to them.

I edited video on macbook m1 air and it was hot like crazy while sitting on my lap and I didn’t even plug it for charge, it was so hot that it was hard to keep it in my lap.

So I would rather pick macbook pro for better heat dissipation than the cooler looking design.

And as for other brands, their user experience isn’t as polished as apple and it can never be. So they have to put best to best (looking) things so that they can make them aesthetically appealing to give people reason to buy them.

Otherwise who will buy laptop who is inefficient crashes most of the time, doesn’t come with an ecosystem and seamless experience and also looks dated.

So apple gets away with looking dated because work matter more than the looks.

Apples design from ca. 2010-2020 is so timeless it seems it won’t ever look dated. My 2011 MacBook still looks so sick to me

On GNU/Linux distributions each vendors can make their own distro and fine tune the user experience.. 😁

You didn’t put in these points when M1 Mac launched. Yet now you crib about six years old hardware. Also Mac was still trumping PC before M1.=
