Because Apple doubled down HARD on that touchbar 13 MPB chassis, and have huge stock of them they’re trying to get rid of.

My hypothesis on why this Laptop “works”, is…. Well i guess this is the benefit of being ahead of your time.

A lot of apple stuff when you first see it looks “too futuristic” and can throw people off.

For example, these macbook airs remind me of the colored apple laptops/imacs[?] of the late 1990’s, yet in a sense they looked “too futuristic”. The 2022 MacBook Air also is a bit too Quirky for me, however I have a feeling that when/if they released an M4 Macbook air w/32 Gb Ram and the same form factor in 2026… for some inexplicable reason i feel i would buy one….

did that make any sense?

Value wise this isn’t great imo. That’s the issue, regardless of how it works as a machine, that standards already been set.

It sells because of the name “apple”. Don’t get me wrong the new m chips are amazing, but that dated hardware will be 12 years old in 6 years time. Not worth getting imo

A good point raised in the video and a thing that’s easy to point the finger at Apple. If companies that make windows laptops and have to work with 1-3 different companies for different parts shouldn’t Apple laptops, by nature, be cheaper since they controll everything?

I like his laptop a lot but I feel like I will be purchasing the MacBook Air M2 instead due to it being a fully updated machine with a proper redesign.

I move away from Mac b/c MS windows is not stable in apple silicon chips. May be when apple supports window I may come back.
