Maybe not in the high end Macbook air price segment, but in budget segment windows manufacturers still use close to decade old design and hardware. Especially dell and hp do this as they are able to get away with this due to brand value.
I recently helped a relative purchase a new laptop and had great options from asus acer and Lenovo with slim, light and modern chassis designs but they were adamant on getting a dell or hp regardless of the fact that they had noticabley old body designs, were heavier and cost almost 7 to 10k more rupees (100-150 in dollars) more.
At least I was able to talk them into getting an ssd☠️

The hardware mostly might be 6 years old but this makes it just even more ridiculous that stuff like the trackpad is still much ahead of pretty much everything you can get on Windows…

Honest Opinion
MacOS is shit. After using it for over an year with MacMini M1 and MacBook Air M1, the basics are so hard to do. Double key shortcuts instead of one, legacy single button for delete/backspace, poor multitasking without gestures i.e if you are using mouse. Minimize, maximize, switch, peep, etc are just names sakes. Folder organization, view, players, renaming, opening, auto sort, grouping is hard.

Definitely agree it’s a different taste, something are better here like the Mac + Space key opening search which is robust enough or RAM management and definitely performance and now cheap pricing with M1 Air as well. But
But
But

Windows and now with 11, is just way better. I have even downgraded my system to i5 10th gen mobile cpu with MI Notebook 14 version and bought an iPad with extra bucks for portability + display + battery + touch for entertainment, presentations and writing works.

Windows just kills it with it’s usecase and as a professional laptop, even so personal as well.
These fanboys who’d move up windows would never call MacOS again. Not until they’ve provided an equal sleek multitasking and normal tasking operation.

This is nothing but a way for them to make them more money by using whatever junk that’s left in their warehouses. It’s just a Mac equivalent of those SE lineup of iPhones. Ofcourse, they can get away with it because the end user experience isn’t compromised mainly due to optimization. Talk about being in a privileged position and calling yourself gr8…
