Honestly, it’s hard for me to think of anyone that should buy this device. You’re just watching content and doing basic work? Then you don’t need to spend $1,000 or more on a laptop at all.

And if you do extensive work, you would make way more sense to get the M1 MacBook or the M1 Max devices if your needs are greater than that. And that way you don’t get screwed with the SSD if you buy the base model.

The sad truth is the people that will buy this are casual consumers that don’t know about the problems with the base model and will literally walk into an Apple store and get the only MacBook Pro in stock (they don’t sell high storage variants in the store). It’ll be people that just want the most recent MacBook Pro, based on mostly name recognition.

It always bugs me to see an Apple product review on XDA. I understand most developpers use a mac and the need to have a larger public, but still.
The root (pun intended) of the XDA community should remain Android and the promotion of open systems. That said, the review is good !

This is XDA, not for normies, we dont need videos which are helpful but detail! Dont use intel vs. Apple, you dont run same operating systems. You could try linux and run da vinci from there, to see the real comparison. No shortcuts, real and detailed data please 🙂

I have a question.

For people who do regular stuff and use the device as their main computing device, for regular office tasks, not a photo/video/music editor, for media consumption, however, is a hardcore World of Warcraft gamer (only world of Warcraft and geforcenow), will the Air m2 with 16Gb of ram be fine? Will the laptop heat up/throttle? Or do we really need to go for the 14/16MBP?
Windows laptops is just not an option

You forgot mention that the Pro 13 inch has a bigger battery than the new Air. Also what’s great about the Pro is that it’s available for purchase unlike the Air.

New release of 2022 is a complete bullshit, they purposely removed the features from last year… Just adding pain for the consumer, why Apple? It’s better buying the 2021 editions they nailed that one…. What a waste of cash and what a waste of tech potential it’s like they forgot how to innovate. They’re just going backwards I wonder if they will start slowing down other software like fcpx on older m1 devices so they can keep selling their newer editions pain pain pain pain cashcow

Biased review for sure it’s a shitty product they are paying him. To say Apple new silicon chip… Wtf is that chip gonna do? Is it gonna bake your pie in the oven?
