it’s still hard to compete with apple’s laptops because you can still get the m1 air for well under one thousand and in good condition so basically as long as you don’t need the new design it’s still a no brainer to just get a macbook even in 2022

Does the performance benchmark take consideration that whether the laptop is plugged? On Max Tech channel, M2 destroy dell when they are both unplugged. Xps is only comparable to M2 when plugged, and it uses a lot of power to do so. This also make me think that you should elaborate you batter testing conditions. The charts you used are like those used by Apple in their presentation . Without providing contexts, it can be misleading.What do you mean by light or heavy uses? Hope you could elaborate on it, I think there is a trust issue here.

The best alternative to the M2 mba, is the M1 mba. You can easily get one in pristine condition in the second hand market for much much less. Got one with an 8gb 512gb config for $700 in PERFECT condition. No one can beat that.

The M2 Air’s biggest competitor is the M1 Air. Unless you want the new design, there are basically zero reasons to go with the M2!

I’m a student and recently getting into editing (4K videos shot on my iPhone) and I wanted a good machine that can edit and I can take to school (so good battery life and portability), most windows laptops are out of the question cuz MacBooks just nail the coffin on all my needs. However, I also enjoy gaming so I wanted a gaming laptop really bad but I guess that’s not happening(bad battery life, expensive, bad portability, etc). But now idk which MacBook to get. Should I splurge and get the base m1 pro 14 mbp? Or should the m1 air/pro be fine. I’m not considering the m2 air cuz the base model has issues and as soon as you upgrade it’s pointless to even consider it.
