Ended up stretching and getting the 16″ MP Pro due to lack of availability of the 14″ (go figure), and it’s been a fantastic purchase. Bulletproof. No complaints.
Ah.. now he does comparisons. Better to unsubscribe… useless.
Really like the design of the zenbook s 13 and with that oled panel. How about the video editing performance compared to the Macbook?
Wow that XPS keyboard and frame looks gorgeous.
Thanks for the excellent review
I bought a new MBA and I really wanted to like it but when I realized that it doesn’t support downloading of offline content of Netflix or Prime Video that was a total kill joy for me.
you should which laptops are good college cuz I go in a couple of weekss
zenbooks are garbage
these youtubers never talk about 2 major points resale value and mac os. reselling a windows laptop when its time to upgrade is a pain compared to apple products and youll lose much more money over time, and mac os not having to worry about popups that will destroy your computer is nice wouldnt replace it with windows
I’m on the M1 Air – there is just NO NEED to upgrade for me at all. It’s utterly good.
Funny to think that this new Air but with old m1 internals would be better
wonderful, windows still has better performance/price than mac
M2 Mac Book Pros are coming sooner than later. I wouldn’t be too surprised if Apple releases M2 Mac Book Pros when iPhone 14 and Apple Watch 8. If going PC route, and battery life is not an issue. I would get a PC Laptop with discrete GPU.
M2 MacBook Air falls in a weird place because of its price, most people would be better off with an M1 Air or an M1 Pro. Seriously an M1 speced with 16gb of ram and 512SSD is only $100 more than the gimped M2. If you drop the SSD but keep the ram upgrade it’s the same price. The performance increase is just not worth it. If you need more performance a base 14” pro is way better value, at $1800 it’s $200 less than the 512/16gb Air M2, but you get much better battery, performance, and screen.
What do you think about the samsung laptop lineup in comparison?
So you recommend an XPS 13 Plus as an alternative to the Macbook Air M2? The price difference is massive, isn’t it? Anyway, what would be your definitive recommendation for a long term use device to use everyday everywhere? (indoor and outdoor).
(if it can help it should run dual boot Linux + Win, mostly for programming and pentesting).
Cheers and always the best reviews, very nice to watch.
So I’m debating on picking up an M2 Mac book air. I’m coming from an 2017 intel MBP. Would you suggest waiting for M2 Max MBP ? I use to everyday as a photographer and video editor
i have asus zenbook 14 oled i7 12th gen and it bst value for money
better display then m2 air
nice performance
and also get at $1000
so my question is why u not included it
Maybe apple didn’t want to destroy their supply chain. I feel like at the $999 price point, right before college semesters start, would have made this yet another scalped product. I don’t think apple wants to be seen this way, they like having their stuff in stock and at their price. So maybe the price bump is a result of that. Also with the levels of inflation we’ve had, the 999 in 2020 is equal to 1,150 today. With that being said the price increase isn’t as large.
Those look like good options. I have a MacBook Air 2015 and it still works great except battery is not the best. I’ve had Windows laptops before and they don’t last long term past about 5 years even if taken care of very well. Not sure what it is maybe they use cheap parts or it’s make of plastic. It would be interesting to see how older devices perform 5 years down the road. Long term performance is just as important to me and what I look at as far as how the history of laptop brands.
I’ll opt for a refurbed 16gb M1 MacBook Air for $600 please… see u in another 7 years,
