Why are laptops with 8gb of ram being showcased here???? Selling laptops with 8gb of ram for $1000+ is inexcusable in 2022, especially when the ram is soldered on to the mb. 8gb ram on a laptop without discrete graphics is unsuitable for any serious use.

Phone, tablet, laptop or desktop – the thing that Apple lacks when compared to the competition is choice. Hundreds of laptops and thousands of phones from the competition means something for everyone regardless of budget or requirements.

Bro apple charges 800$ for a 2TB SSD that is Non-Replaceable :)))) on the windows side u can get 2 x 1TB samsung sticks for 230$ and they are replaceable. if this doesn’t make apple damn Evil .. i dunno what. =))) oh.. maybe usb2.0 speeds on that stupid lightning connector on Iphone. USB2.0 speeds in 2022 =))) FUCK APPLE :X:X:X

As far as I see it, the OEMs have to work together with Intel, Nvidia and AMD to build entirely new laptops based on SoCs like the M1. Intel and Nvidia have to create a super efficient SoC together with unified memory. AMD has it easier because GPU and CPUs come from them and their APUs get better and better. This is the only way PC laptops can compete with Apples offerings.

I’d get the M1 Air if I wanted a 13 inch. I’m otherwise waiting for a 15 inch Air. It may take a while but my 16 inch M1 Pro is great in the meantime. Good analysis of the pricing issue.

Hey Dave, take a look at the Lenovo Yoga Slim Pro X 14. Comes with newest gen Intel and Ryzen high performance chips (12500H, 12700H, 6800HS) for €1200 to €1400. Also with 3K 120Hz display, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD in the base model.

Also, ASUS VivoBook Pro 14X OLED, very similar, 3K 120Hz OLED, 550 Nits, 12700H in the base model for €1300. Both are brand new (listed for just a few days in Europe) and should blow away all of the mentioned Windows laptops in the video and compete with the Macbook Air M1 and M2 in price.

Also, these prices are in Euro, so they should be less in Dollar because Euro includes taxes and unfortunately dipped a lot compared to the Dollar in the past months (for comparison, the Dell XPS 13 Plus starts at €1600).
