M1 was a redesign (ARM), a complete architectural change, no use blaming Intel/AMD as they work on a different architecture.
If anyone, we should shame Samsung/Qualcomm who have been making ARM chips for decades and they couldnt makes a processor comparable to M1/M2. Its not like they did not try, they have been trying to make ultrabooks with these ARM chips for quite some time now and failing miserably.

This speaks volumes on how Apple leads the industry with RND and how bellwether companies like Samsung/Qualcomm want to stick to tried and tested tech.

One more thing going good for Apple is the OS and HW control. They make the HW and the SW, so they can pretty much optimize the hell out of both. Window is at a disadvantage, as its objective of reaching less wealthy audience leaves it will HW that it cannot control or Optimize. In a way Windows might never beat Mac with optimizations.

It’s amazing to think how manufacturers just didn’t want to compete with the M1 MacBook Air!! I have reviewed it as well, it’s simply an amazing laptop!! And if Apple would have priced M2 MBA for 999$ and reduced the M1 to 799$ .. it would have been a whole different story altogether!! Wish Apple saw this video as well!!
