A couple points your text showed the zen book only had 8GB if it offers double the ram and storage which is $400 for Apple that’s a big deal. Also the wifi card is usually replaceable as well.

Why apple won’t be replaced:
their OS.
M1 CPU architecture
great body design

Just simply nobody can’t tell you made mistake by this purchase
Apple just know what is really needed, not what customers want.

I really despise the current solder-everything trend. I get that LPDDR is only available as such, but even regular DDR4 and wifi cards now are mostly soldered onto the MB. My next machine will probably be a framework laptop.

In Australia for the price of an upgrade air 16/512 I can buy a 14” laptop and build a desktop I can get a slim 5 pro from Lenovo with a 6600u 16/512GB. And over $1000 left.

Yo Dave! Great video as always.
One question… Could future videos of ultrabooks have a small section on eGPU compatibility? Since there’s anyway a mention of gaming performance, I guess knowing how well they work with eGPUs would be very useful. Nothing too detailed, even with just a 3060/3060ti/6700 desktop level card (with/without external monitor) would be very informative.

The Asus ROG Flow X13 (2022) is a really good option and it can be spec’d with up to Ryzen 9 6900HS, 32GB DDR5 RAM and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti. If I was looking for a 13 inch laptop that can do a lot of things really good, that would be my choice. You can also find good sales on the 2021 version which is still plenty powerful.

The fact that you can upgrade the non MacBook shown here. Makes it a lot better than MacBook in long term. 256GB for $1400 with botched performance. No thank you.
