Is HP Pavilion aero really that good? I’m getting a ryzen one with 16 gigs of ram and 512GB storage for around $800.

I’m surprised they opted in this year though – that Dell is sweet, but IMO I’d say the M2 is 25% sweeter 😉

Apart from battery, any laptop with ryzen 6000 and rtx 3060/3060ti will be enough for on the go rendering. But only if they are not on battery power.

Everything that isn’t a M1 MacBook Air feels like an attempt to upsell you to the Macbook Pros. Except you want a thin and light device.
By the time you ramp up SSD and maybe ram, as tests show is very recommended, you’re close to the Pro price territory.

I got earlier this year xps 9305 (refurbished) for little over $600. It’s got this old nice to touch carbon fiber palm rest, decent keyboard and lot of ports including SD card reader. It runs Linux with KDE super fast and smooth in day to day tasks like web browsing. It has replaceable SSD too. I think I could not find anything cheaper so recent (11gen Intel) with warranty.

Everyone on the YouTube have told that the price bump for M2 MacBook has been a major drawback but the reason explained here is just crisp and to the point. Great video 👍🏼

The only reasonable config is the base 8/256. Around 1300USD in my country. The 16/512 options cost around 2000, in that price range there is many more better options to choose from. Was considering the macbook, but ended up bought the 2022 x13 flow from Asus (~1600 USD in my country)

Personal preference aside on which extra little features suit who… I’m just glad Apple finally have a product line up that isn’t a complete rip off. If you compare like for like they’re about on par with windows ultra-books in terms of performance/quality/experience. This has not been the case for decades. That still doesn’t seem to stop the anti-fanboys getting angry because someone else chose to spend their $$ different or has slightly different priorities

I’ve been happy that to the version of Mac that I decided to try, I landed on the M1, I havent had any Macs before except for baked mac 😄, but as a lifelong windows user up til’ now, this thing was just reliable AF, and battery was phenomenal. I can go all day plus half the next. I dont have to worry If I forgot to charge it and left with a 40 to 50% battery leaving the house, I know it will endure before the day’s end that I really need to juice it up when it hits 20.

To me it’s either the m1 mba for whatever basic use you ever need, or the 14 mbp for the heavy users i mean even with equal specs m2 mba you still miss out slots, screen, and cooling. m2 mba is more of a luxury than value buy among their own lineups.
