I have that same asus laptop with the 11th gen i3. It’s a really nice oled panel for just 1080p resolution. I got it at a discount on newegg for $429.99 usd.

isn’t the M1 Macbook Air technically cheaper because it still has the same price as when it was launched even with inflation being so high right now and the M2 Macbook Air has similar starting price as its older brother M1?

Cool to see these benchmarks but, people, keep in mind on thing: this results are when these laptops are plugged in!
When they aren’t, performance drops about 30% at least and MacBooks in these don’t have competitors because they have the same behaviour with and without plugged in.
Dave you should say this and don’t do misinformation!

If Apple employed the same passive thermal management techniques as are present in Windows Laptops running higher TDPs the M2 would rarely thermal throttle.
So why didn’t they do so? Only two possibilities are either: the M2 design team is the old Apple intel design team, or the bean counters got greedy at Apple again.
Or both.

Apple education system does not need you to verify now. Technically you could get almost $200 bucks off just by clicking a few buttons. It makes the M2 machine VERY appealing.

Dell needs to drop Intel for AMD for the power consumption and heat. Probably only reason why I can’t pull the trigger on one.

However great Apple makes their laptops, they won’t reach Windows level market share if their OS doesn’t support the same software people have been using on Windows for years. Namely, one of the popular reasons to not get a mac is gaming or the lack of support for it.

Excellent review mate,. I was about to buy an m2 air; 20% brighter n bigger screen, the mag safe n the new design, (which ain’t important), n that’s basically it. But it seems (!?) as if Apple r almost obliging u to add extras to stop it throttling, if not now sometime b4 I would want to give it up, and that’s the rub. A pity, but I thinks it gotta be the M1Air

I am not a fan of MacOS at all but damn my M1 Mac Air is just so perfect for me. It handles all of my editing needs and is small with insane battery life.

Even when Apple used Intel CPUs they got better battery life than you would get on a Windows laptop. Imagine how good the 6800u would be running MacOS. Considering It’s so efficient running Windows. Plus you would have full x86 compatibility. And 6800u is based on AMD’s 2 year old architecture. Zen4 is just around the corner. AMD is simply knocking it out of the ballpark lately.
