i honestly just prefer garageband and imovie over bandlab and da vinci, like fumbling with davinci sends me running back to apple

I and some of my friends have had bad experience with Asus’ laptop screens…they develop some issue or the other in the 1st year of use…anyone else out there who has faced the same issue?

I got the m1 Mac and saved 260$ 😀 it arrived 5 days early 5 days ago 😀
it’s very quirky and it’s my first Mac. but I love it
PS: The trackpad is actually not as good as some windows laptops I don’t get the hype. Love it tho :O

wish the Asus came with a better keyboard and a non old display which for coders/programmers and most professional work causes a lot o burn-in very quickly

I think this comparsion should always be done with devices with 16 GB ram/512 GB drive. It is reasonable minimum at this price point. It makes no sense to me to pay such a money for a laptop and get low-cost specs. It is 2022 and not 2012. Of course suddenly value/price ratio would be much worse for apple. And in the end – most people will start the buy with ecosystem they need in mind…

the hp spectre x360 14t ea000 seems pretty decent too tbh 🙂 and it has a pen and it’s a convertible so you can take notes on it (Never taken notes on a laptop before tho. only on a surface, not sure how good it’ll be)

sadly in canada we still only have old 10th/11th gen and 4000th gen Ryzen stuff and we rarely get stock of new/good units. I ended up with apple as big companies usually have everything in stock asap. and windows machines all have very weird quirks. I also avoided so many laptops because of their OLED screens

also, don’t underestimate the lack of an anti-glare coating. the coating on the display is such a huge feature.

I really thought the M2 was much better thanks to the architecture. But x86 hasn’t given up yet. Really impressive hardware, especially the zenbook

The Windows 11 aesthetics have really boosted windows laptops sales.
Plus add the fact that almost all windows laptops have drastically improved for the current year. If Apple does not get the pricing right, they will remain to their ecosystem customers only which is a huge loss.

the reality unfortunately is that if you are going to use the same machine for more than 4-5 years, Macbook still stands very tall, I work as a Tech Architect and have laptops from 6 companies being used in my office. In terms of sheer longevity with decent productivity the MacPro and Lenovo P52 stand apart. HP machines fall apart in 3 years, be it 850 dollars or 2000 dollars , the quality of stuff used to make it is still the same as late 2000s. so get an HP device if you can keep replacing devices at a 2-3 year cycle.
