I mean with student discount you can get m2 air for 1100 which is a steal TBH !!!.. better screen, sound, keyboard, design, GPU and pretty much similar CPU if not better.

Ryzen 6800U is impressive, keeping in mind it’s in a fairly simple cooled machine with just 1 fan, and using 7nm instead of the 5nm node process of the M1/M2. Similar in efficiency to the M2 if we compare Cinebench R23 scores and the power used.

Ryzen 7000 series early next year with 4 or 5nm and new architecture generation (Zen 4) will be VERY impressive. And RDNA3 iGPU also using 4 or 5nm.

I bet the benchmarks for the Windows laptops are plugged in only. My impression is that the performance of the Windows laptops would greatly degrade once unplugged.

The M2 MBA has a slow 256 SSD, average speaker quality, and the new finishes like Midnight smudge and the paint chips, plus it costs too much.

Rdna3 is gonna be a problem. Amd integrated graphics starting to come in hot. For me, now that I don’t have time to game, rdna 3 is enough for me.

Wait all of his benchmarks were with the laptop plugged in?! If you compare them while on the go/while not charging, then there is a massive difference in power. Sometimes to almost half of the power that the M2 has

Apple would had a winning product stack had they bumped the M1 Air 16gb 512gb spec to the 1000$ price point, and the M2 was 100 less on all specs.

Great video as always. Somethings to consider when buying a consumer level product. I think if I was going to replace my older MBA I would lean towards the M1 variety. But interesting to see what the Windows side of the discussion can do for the same price point.
