The M2 air is a let down in my opinion. It has a worse soul in a more beautiful body is how I sum it up. More expensive, significantly slower SSD, and overheating to the point that M2 isn’t as useful compared to M1.

Really like my MBA M1 as an additional side device for meetings, email, Netflix etc. Not sure the M2 version adds much for me. Maybe I’ll upgrade at like M3 or M4. For a mainline workhorse, I really like Dell XPS or Precision laptops.

XPS 13 Plus starts at €1600 in Europe/Germany, that’s ridiculous for an entry level configuration with just 8GB RAM, i5 1240p and a Full HD non-touch panel. If this had 16GB RAM and at least 1440p with touch for €1200 it’d be a viable competitor to the M1 Air

Great video as always, Dave. If I may add one detail that the video could have clarified on.. all of the windows laptops throttle tremendously when unplugged, while the MacBook doesn’t. So the comparisons shown in the video only work so long as you’re not using the laptop as… a laptop. If you’re going portable, the MacBook smokes the other laptops easily.

Did you use the base model of the m2 MacBook air? You do know it is much worse than the penultimate one, right? It is well-known that the base model is just Apple’s bad market maneuver to trick people into buying other models, higher-priced ones.

Finally some love for the brilliant *HP Pavilion Aero!!* 👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻

I’ve been commenting/begging so many youtubers to review this fantastic laptop ever since it’s launch, but I really didn’t see it covered much, which is a shame imho!
It’s good value as it is, but it regularly goes on sale ($100-200 off) & then it turns into a fantastic killer deal (16:10 bright 100% sRGB screen, Mg-alloy chassis, <1kg i.e. lighter than the MBA), not to mention you can even upgrade to 16/512 (or even 1TB) for pretty cheap! And on top of it it has actual ports rather than everything being type-C, so you don't necessarily need to live in *Dongle-City*
