While the pricing is expensive, as a recent owner of this machine I love it. The pricing makes a bit more sense if you consider that apple actually wants the M1 to stay in the lineup and is still selling it new. Now you have a more or less continuous curve of options from 999 all the way to 16in pro money. I think the pricing of the 13 pro is arguably more outrageous

You are forgetting that most of those laptop companies were dependent on Intel and Intel was only manufacturing terrible chips. This year they have something to compete with because of 12th gen.

The Mac book air and pro is designed for studio’s and designers. It’s mega expensive for mere mortals who need a laptop, especially for the non base model

Isn’t there a fan that can be somehow attached to the M2 MacBook like it’s been done for those ROG phones in order to maximize performance.

Bought that pavillion aero for my dad earlier in the year. It’s a fantastic little machine for the price. It’s not an A+, but a solid B+/A-, and for the price I can’t complain.

I would have two comments:
– I feel like you didn’t do justice to the M2’s trackpad, “solid trackpad” is a big understatement, it’s not remotely in the same league…
– What is your battery test loop ? The results seem oddly balanced…

Intel = highest powered yet not efficient in temp and performance
Apple = super efficient, extreme battery but has limited power and limited compatibility
AMD = 50/50 of both efficient yet can be powerful but doesn’t reach the same level of both in any particular aspect measured

Because of the way my transition to apple worked out, i eneded up ordering M2 with 16 gb and 512gb ssd, in India with student’s discount it cost me about INR 1,57,900 which if converted to USD directly comes out U$ 1900 but when adjusted for PPP it works out to U$ 1590.
It was also interesting to note that both physical stores and online store only made provision for basic M2 air config, higher spec ones take nearly 4 weeks to deliver (mine hasn’t arrived yet).
