Nice review! And you actually talked about the category of users I’d fall into, i. e those who prefer portability. I hesitated between the pro 14 or a pumped up M2 but you helped me decide. Cheers
Enough to make me want to stay with my M1. But it’s on sale and it’s only $110 difference. So I’m gonna go with the M2. But I say only $110 because I added up all the math, and the difference was only 110 for me. I’m going to go get it. And since I already had the M1 before and it broke in me. Why not get the M2
To be honest, I bought the M2 Air just to admire the new design and flex on my friends. Also, the M2 Air is a little bit quicker than my TV at home which is ridiculous. I personally like the speakers on this new machine due to its base sound. Those are way better than the speakers on windows laptop. Before that I bought the M2 Air, my school gave me a Dell which is so slow, heavy and big. It has that butterfly keyboard with the old diving board trackpad. It’s just a pain let alone that I prefer MacOS.
I never owned two working laptops. When I was in college my moneyed parents would never agree buying a new one if it’s not a replacement for a broken or irreparable unit. I guess it’s a matter of principle.
I really couldn’t care less about the slower ssd speeds, I come from an age of Hdds that have 100mb read and 100mb write which is astronomical slower than the fuss being made about “1700 read and write vs 2500 read and write.” as well as the fact that I’m not gonna be transferring 100gb of files everyday, if so I’d be considering the mbp anyway and another thing is that in my country the difference between mba and mbp, heck a maxed out mba would only be close to that mbp and the mild upgrades I got on my mba is not even touching the mbp and I was not gonna spend that much money on a laptop with the, yes faster M1 Pro but like not that much faster or not faster to the point where it’s worth the extra price, so the mba was a no brained for me as I didn’t need to save much money and go for m1 mba but I also wasn’t gonna spend way over my budget for the mbp.
Unrelated but you’re cute – and thanks for the insight!
