Did I overkill by buying a 14 pro 10c/16c/16ram 1tb for $2k ? Brand btw. Bought for going back to school, light video editing and coding/software programming? And future proof

Thank you so much for the review Ella! I am about to purchase a new laptop for college and I was thinking of a macbook since it seems like a super powerful machine. I am indecisive whether to go for the M1 MBA since I think is one of the best devices made by apple or to try and find a good price with the winter sales in Italy for the M2 MBA. I really want something made to last and these days I’ve seen so many reviews of the M2 macbook air saying that the base model (the one I’m interested in) is not worth it due ti SSD limitations but now that you said that it’s not going to be to noticeable for daily use task I feel more comfortable buying the M2 since it’s newer and probably will last me more with upgrades.
You are the Best!!

This review was exceedingly helpful, thank you! My 7 year old MacBook Pro died, right in the middle of working on my client’s new website! I have talked with a few people at Apple and they figure the M2 MacBook Air would work just as well for me. I rarely do videos, and the heaviest thing I would load on it would be the Adobe suites because I use Illustrator & Photoshop regularly. The rest is web design which is web based.
