I have M2 air. Used to have only windows Dell XPS 15. I love this machine. My main work is photoshop and painting. It works faster on air than it was on i7 32gb RAM Nvidia Xps 15. Could not be more happy. Just wish the screen was bigger and less reflective.

The M2 Air is great, but DON’T BUY the base model. 256 gb of ssd in 2022 is just not enough for a laptop. The base M2 is slower than the M1 and it overheats easily. I like to run geekbench on mine and with the bad news that I’ve heard from the base model, I skipped it directly. Instead, I went after the 512 ssd, 8 ram with 10 core GPU. That thing scored 1952 points in single core and 9040 for multi-core in CPU while also scoring 27297 points in the GPU test. The 10 core GPU does improve geekbench scores, but it’s not worth 100$ of additional performance. So, go for either the 256 ssd with 16gb of ram or the 512 ssd with 8gb of ram.

Honestly feel with the M1 release Apple has kind of killed their MBP line up.

For the barely there difference it isn’t work the extra 3 to 7 hundred..

Great review, just 1 thing stop using that terrible awful song as a ‘test song’ to try out the speakers. Its horrendous! I have to skip here, and on the vids of Max tech who are using the same song. I’m sure it’s convenient with copyrights and all, but there must be somethings else, anything else will do! Except Nickelback, of course.

I also bought a Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 2 360 (SGBP) Burgendy. It’s glitchy at times but doing better over time. I’m may consider returning it to buy the MBA M2 and an iPad due to its great performance but greater cost. I like prefer the Windows OS but MBA M2 just seems too great. Do you prefer using your (SGBP) or MBAM2? I bought the SGBP because I love using OneNote and its stylus is amazing.

I was thinking about buying the MacBook Air M2, but I’m a bit undecided – I do some light graphic work in Photoshop and html-css coding. Will the Air M2 base model be enough for that?

I have an M1 air with 500gig ssd , I am very happy with it, the new air for me real problem is the price and it’s function / value in the apple line up. apple had the m1 air in the best value range for performance, the m2 minimum cost is 1299 minimum spec. This for me as a apple user this makes it completely pointless. It’s price is what I would expect to invest in say my main work station for heavy tasks and as I laptop then it is way overpriced when compared to the m1 air. Where as the previous air had going for it the best performance to value ratio over the 20% boost in performance a pro would get you at double the cost. It’s disappointing to me that apple once again no longer had an affordable everyday laptop. And honestly most users need no where near the power of these new chips. I use my m1 for professional audio and photography workflows and it’s extremely efficient. There would be no scenario for me where I would spend double on a new air for increase in performance that would be worth it. Even editing 4K video. Apples prices once again make me start to consider PC’s for the future of my business and certainly guarantee I will not be buying a new apple laptop at all. The second hand market for last years model will be the best value proposition.
