I have both the m1 and the m2 macbook air right now, love the design on the M2 but it get warm really fast, the M1 doesn’t do that even tho it has no fan as well. Speakers on the M1 are definitely better too.

Windows is a black hole when it comes to RAM, the more you put on the machine the more it eats. Apple devices can work with less than half the RAM compared to Android and Windows. I think this is a very good personal use machine at base specs if you have a different device for work.

Would really love some advice for apps like Ableton Live and Logic. I’m running a 2013 iMac with 16 gb ram and buying a new computer seems more confusing than ever.

The Apple Store lists the following battery specs: M1 Air (Up to 18 hours battery life), M2 Air (Up to 18 hours battery life), MacBook Pro 13” (Up to 20 hours battery life), MacBook Pro 14” and 16”(Up to 21 hours battery life). I think they want people to buy the Pro.

I only had first gen macbook air before, my first and last apple product.. can someone tell me in simple laymen terms what’s the difference between m1/m2 chip. I’m just using it for my daily normal usage. Like YouTube/ football & F1. And graph / sheets for my work. I only now everyone have been saying m2 gets hot easily as compare to m1???
