I do infrared editing in photoshop like channel swapping, false colors etc and Lightroom also some light video editing Gopro footage which is better for me? M1 or m2 I need lightweight l have bad wrist.

I loved this video because of the everyday use cases presented. I’m in the market for a new laptop as my old MacBook Air is over ten years old now and it’s on its knees when I have one than one tab opened on Google Chrome.

It is coming down between the 2021 M1 14-inch MacBook Pro with 16-GB RAM and 512-GB of SSD and this one. I’m a writer and will be digitizing my old slides, black and white photos, as well as color negatives and editing the same. I may also do some video editing. I’m still a bit concerned with the 8-GB of memory. Which exact model did you test? I understand that it has 8-GB RAM, but what was the storage 256-GB or 512-GB?

I’m confused why this review doesn’t even mention gaming in the section on thermal throttling. It’s not just this video, it’s many of them. Gaming is something obviously disadvantaged by the fanless design and it’s shocking (to me) and frustrating just how few reviewers even think of it. Sustained GPU load is a reasonably common thing, even in the Mac world.

The best laptop is a gaming laptop… Those are the equivalent of military grade.

1:05 I don’t know you, but to me that Macbooks sounds muffled.

The Mac computer was designed the same way with speakers facing downwards, so that the sound bounces off tables. Making you buy speakers.

A quick question, I plan to upgrade my 2014 air and consider the M1 & M2. I am confused given the heating issues and incremental costs. Do you think the M2 without the fans will be a good option over the M1 even today?

Galaxy book 2 pro, XPS 13 and Asus Zenbook all have better screens than the M2 Airbook. But yes the M2 Airbook is better in every thing else.

yo this is actually the best review of the m2 air. i wish i found this whilst making my decision during black friday sales 😂

i was torn between the base m2, upgraded m1 air and the m1 pro bc every other damn review basically said “oh the m2 air is slower than the m1 air, don’t get it” while that is only relatively true, they didn’t say that you have to be running super intensive things for that to happen rather than day to day usage.

i am going to be lightly coding going forwards and in light of this info, i feel like the m2 air would’ve been perfect for me but i went for the m1 pro which hopefully holds up well too..

anyways, earned yourself a sub from me. ty for the great content, keep it up!

Finally a review that reflects how I feel about this device. It’s awesome; I have a M1 MAX 16 inch Pro and “accidentally” bought one of these and it’s actually seeing way more use. No I’m not compiling massive projects on it nor am I playing RE: Village on it (though I tested it and it does it just fine) but overall, the speed, the looks, the battery life: great. And let’s not begin about how much more I paid for that Pro that stands idly by more and more 😀

Best review hands down. Objective on temperature and throttling in particular . these 2 areas found other reviewers responding “emotionally”. Love how she threw in that little fan to appease those who were hung up on throttling.
