They didn’t use thermal pads. If they did, it would be SIGNIFICANTLY better at keeping sustained performance. Watch linus’s video on this.

Of course the battery life is better because you can’t do almost anything with the MacBook Air + its 60hz only so nothing is gonna take the battery lmao

Honestly it doesn’t need that kind of airflow if you aren’t video editing or running a large symphony of channels in an app like Logic X with tons of plugin processing happening in real time.

But if you’re a code ape, and you basically wrote code and watch YouTube all day, maybe watch a movie or listen to Apple Music? This is perfectly suitable.

However, If you are a Chrome fan, and you have an older website or a poorly written site running off with all of your resources, Chrome will stumble without the m2 having an opportunity to cool off.

But that’s honestly not that different on a MBP with an M1X or i9, so food for thought.

I am so disappointed that the 256gb model ssd is slower than M1 base model. I might even go for an M1 with 512 gb instead now. The performance increase is negligible for students who only use word and web browsers.

I am sorry but the argument “well if you are editing 8k, there are more powerful tools that Apple offers” is just consumerism/fannboyism… why not try to make do with a cheaper model if they have the potential. I hope we all woke up a bit more that this single nand and no fan fiasco, is just classic Apple to milk people out of their cash. I have argued since the M1 this product should be called “Macbook (used to have) Air” or… “Macbook Air*; * Air sold separately.

To this day I can say there is NO right for it to cost 200$ for 250Gb extra storage. Its such an awful dcam.

Can you charge it using a USB-C cable in addition to the mag-safe? Just wondering if I can plug it into my USB-C hub and charge it using just one cable, like I can do with my older MacBook Pro. Thanks for this hands-on review. I’ve been looking forward to it. Great vid!

So, I have a 2017 Macbook Air and i can’t wait to get a hold of the M2 Air! I use my Air mainly for web browsing, emails, and using MS office. I do not video edit or game nor do I need a lot of storage to store my files. I love the aesthetic of the M2 Air so this will be a lovely upgrade! Thank you for the video review!!
