Is it alright for low specced games like valorant on an emulator? Or tf2, CSGO and overwatch maybe? I just wanna play games man
The SSD issue is a deal breaker for me, fuck that
I mean, the performance throttling was kind of expected, wasn’t it? This is (kind of) the reason the 13″ M2 MBP is actually still a somewhat valid consideration at equal price points. I was saying this when the two were announced, but people still kept having doubts over the 13″ M2 Pro, while others were already saying that the fan is the point of it also.
I’m still planning on getting an M2 Air later this year despite the “drawbacks” since I know what I’m using for, and I’m upgrading from a much older Macbook… I like it for Magsafe and its other small upgrades over the M1.
I don’t think the average consumer can push those chips to a degree that it would require a fan.
I’ve heard it takes effort like 4k video editing and all that stuff for it to kick in that fan.
I have the M1 MacBook Air (Space Grey). It does everything I need. It’s the best laptop for the price. IMO for the average user – it’s not worth upgrading anymore. The upgrades are incremental at best. Plus the laptop notch is not for me. I hope you don’t have to wait 3 months to receive your laptop. Great video btw.
Can we use 1$ hack for cooling this
Rather than clinical benchmarks it would have been nice to see a comparison of how it compares to other M1/2 devices when say playing World of Warcraft. The game is Apple silicon optimised and should tell us more about it’s actual performance and throttling. It is also a sustained load of GPU and CPU but not such a unique task only relevant for professional content creators…
Thanks for the review Dave! Now I’m stuck between this or the M1 MacBook Air. As someone who doesn’t need a laptop but would like to have one just for in case!
The only thing I use my M1 MBA for is light email/browsing/media consumption. The most intensive task I put it through is playing WoW Retail. So I think I’m still good with my M1 MBA.
M2 took Major L
Really Love your Aquascape. Im a fan of bonsai diorama type aquascaping. Great WORK
Notch is a complete deal breaker. I have the 2021 mbp from work and hate it with a passion.
That’s a great title 😆
Honesty is the best policy.
This channel certainly abides by it.
Respect.
USB-C port is USB4/Thunderbolt 3, not Thunderbolt 4!
I like the little Easter egg to Scooty from corridor
Mate, it feels so good to watch your videos, it’s like I’m listening to my friend who is very good at tech, it’s so natural. Idk how to explain it more.
What these (excellent) reviews can’t talk about, is the eventual battery expansion, case distortion and other failure-gate issues that will plague this very cool product.
Apple definitely make the best tech in the world, but they also make the most revenue and that means we the consumers have to keep forking out!
From a 2016 MacBook Pro (core i5), do you think the M2 MacBook Air is a big noticeable upgrade?
Dave, what configuration of mbp 16 would you recommend for everyday use and future proofing? Or do you foresee a m2 pro coming this year?
