Got an M1 Air about 9 months ago and love it.
Maybe I wish I waited, for the better screen, but honestly. I never owned a Mac before and the M1A is so good.
Mainly because I just type on it, watch TV and maybe edit some photos.

I use my m1 with a cooling base when needed. It’s súper portable (too much sometimes because 13″) and feels super powerful with a 4k monitor and a lot of cold air pointing at it’s bottom

Well it’s clearly not a gaming nor a video editing machine. For what it is intended, it’s got more than enough power. The notch is crap. I’d give it a 10/10 without the notch, and an 8/10 with the notch… -2 points because the notch is just so lame and so unnecessary.

The USB-C on the MBA 2022 are Thunderbolt 3, not Thunderbolt 4.

They _don’t_ support TB4, do they? I read from the official website that they support TB3/USB 4 instead of TB4 on the 10‑core CPU and 16‑core GPU, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD 14″ M1 Pro MBP that costs $2249

It seems that the dropping of the fan was a bit premature ?! If you are planning heavy sessions, and who knows what people might want of their lap tops during its life cycle ?! But it does look very nice, although I appreciated the wedge shape. Emm. I was all up for buying it in 2wks time, (or ordering it at least !). But now I might watch a few more vids on the machine. Excellent, very useful video, Thanks.

It’s the laptop for the masses. For those who don’t do tons of editing and heavy gaming. For people who use it for every day uses I’d say it’s hard to beat? Except for maybe the $200 cheaper M1 lol

MacBook Airs don’t need to be good at managing high levels of performance. They need to not have a fan, which people hate.
