It supports usb4 and Thunderbolt 3. It does not support Thunderbolt 4.

I was fighting over whether I should get a m2 air with upgraded ram or a base model m1 pro 14 inch, decided on the 14 inch and after this review, I am glad with my choice. Thank you for the review!

Still not convinced by this M2. The M1 MBA lasts longer under heavy load from your charts and thermal throttles less. I am not sure about this machine.

With the metal body of the screen, and vast experience making tablets, i am shocked that the M1 and M2 Macbook Air didnt have their SOCs behind the screen with heat-pipes, or that new wafer thin, but absolutely massive coolermaster(?) vapor chamber to use the whole back of the screen as a heatsink with psudo active cooling thanks to the fact that hot air rises pulling in fresh cold air.

The M1 Air and Pro demonstrated the same sustained performance difference. The Air would get hot and lose performance. There’s a reason there are videos of people modifying the backplate of the M1 Air to improve the cooling.

Saying this is a new phenomenon or that you’re surprised a fan makes a difference makes it seem like either A) you never actually compared an M1 Air and Pro, or B) you’re trying to generate controversy for clicks.

Sub-standard, disingenuous content here and honestly I’m disappointed.

Dave says multiple times that this is a review unit, but when did Apple start providing review units? AFAIK every reviewer, including Dave, had to buy the devices themselves to test and review them.

I wish it was at the M1 Air price point. Even if they had to use binned M2 chips or something. I would love an M1 MBA with the form factor of this M2 MBA.

I think programming doesn’t necessarily fall down in the category of sustained workflows mostly because we don’t compile our code that often. Plus we don’t need GPU for most of the tasks so, I guess this is a great machine for Developers as well.

Hope full the 8 gpu core model doesn’t get as thermal throttled when playing games for example.
