Slow SSD does make difference even in day to day usage. This kind of behavior should not be excused at ant cost.

If rumors are true and the 3nm chip finally comes to the iPhone 14 pros, I would expect it to be in the next refresh of the MacBook Air(in 2 years). And that’s going to be a beast.

I was looking forward for the new Macbook Air redesign, but the price is absurd… I would rather save up and go for the 14 Pro.
but I’ll probably go for the old Macbook Air 13 M1, seems to be the best perfomance/$…

Completely agree with you. It is a very good laptop but it just is a entry level macbook nothing more special. I am glad a big youtuber thinks the same and also dares to say it in front of camera. Especially after getting a review unit from Apple. I know other wouldn’t dare.

To do real video editing workloads you need up upgrade to at least 16GB of RAM and the 10 core GPU. Then you are getting very close into 14” Pro territory price wise
which is a vastly better unit (faster, fans, no throttling, mini LED, more ports, etc etc)

The price for an M2 Air w/ 16GB of RAM feels way too close to the base-level 14-inch Pro (which often goes on sale for $200 off, making it even closer in price)

It’s really not that weird that a fan makes a large difference in cooling, there’s a reason why completely passively cooled PCs require enormous radiators vs just a few fans in your normal PC.

What happens if you put some thermal pads from APU to the bottom of the laptop?
I’ve been doing that for years on XPSs and you would be surprised how much heat it removes.
