Thank you for your honest insights. I will be getting the M2 sliver model and hopefully it will last at least five years, then trade it in to get a newer model.

May I ask something?

I’m a freelancer who often works with Adobe Photoshop. Every day I use Photoshop 2022 to create carousel content on Instagram. I usually use a size of 10800×1080 px (10 grid size slides) with a resolution of 300 px and many layers (60 MB file sixe). Sometimes I also make banners with a size of 3×4 meters (150 MB file size).

Besides Photoshop, I also need the Adobe Illustrator application to open vector files from Freepik and then import them into Photoshop for my work.

With the budget I have to choose the base model Macbook Air M2 or the base model Macbook Pro, which should I choose?

I’m really confused. I want a device that is light to carry and good ports, while I don’t like the touch bar on the MBP M2.

Another excellent, informative review with balanced considered advice 👌🏽

Base M1 Air & M1 Pro both are great value propositions & similarly the base M2 Air makes sense. But upgrading the M2 Air RAM & SSD makes it poor value compared to the base 14” MacBook Pro

This laptop have slower ssd, heat issues and is basically m1 air with better output devices like speaker, and display and a better webcam, on the other hand m1 air doesn’t have heat issues etc.,i think i wille go for m1 air or m1 pro 14 laptop,this kind of land in a middle laptop is not good especially when we don’t know what kind of long term side effects that heat will have

Completely agree with your judgement. I’m a student and the base configurations are good enough and that the M1 MBA is a beast for the price.

I bought a m2 MacBook Air Aswell! I chose the midnight color but many people say it’s a fingerprint magnet and all that but at least it’s worth the color!
