A notch is not modern looking. It’s a flaw. Especially with pro and now this. It only house a freakin webcam for that much space. Screw apple.

I have come to a belief that if you know that 256GB ssd and 8GB of ram is a definite no go, save some more and get the M1 Pro 14 inch. Any upgrade to the M2 Air seems to bring you close to the M1 Pro 14

If you speck out the air to 512,16,10 core at 1699. Just get the Pro 14 only 50 more at BestBuy. Will have no problems handling any of this.

i’ll say it once and twice and three times just to show you how simple you can describe the M2 MacBook. Simply take the word pro off of it and everyone can be happy with calling it the MacBook. With all the minimalistic upgrades including all the throttling. The name MacBook is absolutely perfect. And they also position themselves for the next MacBook to be Cole MacBook SE‘s‘s‘s. Sincerely the iPhone SE

I can’t wait to get my M2 Macbook Air! I got 16GB/512/8 core GPU. Can’t wait to use Safari, Microsoft Word, maybe a tiny bit of MATLAB scripting, and Apple Music! It’s been too long since I’ve had a Mac.

It’s going to pair nicely with my iPhone 13 Mini. I am niche.

I’m still loving my M1 512GB air. In my opinion it is the perfect computer. I’m still floored by the battery life. It Is just a joy to use and has given me zero issues so far.

Getting a little tired of these reviews. 90% of users do very basic things on their laptops. Even when using for work all day – super basic. If you need to do more intense tasks and do them often – that’s literally what the Pros are for. I think there are a ton of people out there buying the Pro that have no true need. I prefer the design and day to day use of the new Air. If offered both at the same price – I’d actually choose the Air. Literally the only thing in the Pro that I like better is the better screen with darker blacks, and the slightly smaller bezels. All the rest is BS… emails, web browsing, excel files, blah blah blah… will not make a difference at all. But for me, even the 14″ pro is too large and too heavy.

I really think this Air would be a fantastic laptop when it finally hits the $999 price point. The previous gen Air started at $1199 as well so I won’t be surprised if this ends up being $999 in a few years time.

I am the average adult that really only uses my computer for my grad school work and even then I use my iPad Pro for everything short of serious writing. I bought the 14 inch MBP last year and love it. If I hadn’t though, I would seriously consider the m2 MBA.

Best review I’ve seen yet. I’ve watched at least 24 hours worth of review videos, and came to the conclusion of: m2 midnight with 512gb and 16gb ram.. You really gave me a lot of comfort with the midnight color comment. And instead of benchmarks you actually compared it to real life tasks which was definitely more relevant to real life usecases.

I just got one as a secondary laptop and unfortunately the keyboard and mouse freezes every time it comes out of sleep. Even after doing a full wipe restore it didn’t fix the problem and apple support couldn’t figure it out either. It it needs to be replaced I might spend the extra 100 dollars for a pro. Since macs last a while it might be worth the extra money.

they should have discontinued the M1 MacBook Air and then started selling the M2 Air at $999, clean and simple. But this price structure where the M2 Air pushes people towards the 14-inch Pro will probably make Wall Street happy
