Hey Dan.
Apologies for being pedantic, but I’m suggesting this as I really like the channel.
Whenever you’re sponsored by OWC, I’d suggest using a vectorised logo with a little less scale (for the intro); having a blurry enlarged rasterised logo makes it feel very cheap and unprofessional, which clashes with the otherwise excellent quality of the videos themselves.

Great job with this review. For the casual user, for the average user who is going to write, check emails and stream, the base model is ideal.
That Midnight color is 🔥
About time reviewers kept it real 💯 and not so negative! 👏🏽
Anybody that complains about this keyboard or the notch is just a miserable person 24/7

I absolutely love it, I’ve sold my MacBook pro 14 inch and got it, it’s light, it’s fast and premium + doesn’t heat up. I honestly do wish they had a new friendly color. what Apple forgot is that I don’t want to be reminded of work or my work laptop, if they had color options would make the laptop more personal.
I think once they move to ceramic this will be resolved, until then color won’t be a thing and that applies for iphone as well.

Hey Dan, thank you for the review! So, based on this, you think coming from a 2019 16″ MBP maxed out (except just 2TB!) would be a solid upgrade? I primarily edit documentaries shot on RED, so working with proxies until reconnecting them at the end with the 6K R3Ds!

I couldn’t tell the difference between the M1 Webcam and M2, to be honest the mic on the M1 even sounds better than the M2.

How shallow are people that give a dam about tools they use get fingerprints, smugges, scratches, and etc. There are more important things to think about and creative things to do.

I got a Macbook Air and now my iPad just collects dust and I find myself doing more with the MBA than I ever did with the iPad. My only issue is how small the screen for my eyes, but it’s small size is really handy. I did get a Amazon Basics laptop stand so for Zoom sessions I can get MBA to sit higher for better camera angle. Okay I got Space Gray, but everything Apple I buy is either Space Gray or Silver.

For the life of me I don’t get why apple has yet to combine the iPad and MacBooks into one device already. Give us one ultra pro device to use on the go. As an animator the Apple Pencil is an excellent device however there is still a lot to 3D apps not available on ipad. Its just not convenient having photoshop, illustrator, etc installed on two devices and using the cloud and go between 2 devices. Its wasting storage really by duplicating the program on.2 devices. It’s inevitably going to happen at some point, especially if we get larger folding iPhones in the future. I get it the game right now is sales of multiple products but I’m sure the iPad will stick around for a while even in the education industry.

It’s sad that people focus on a non-issue thing such as the fingerprints on this laptop. Either people are purposely hating on Apple or they are purposely ignoring the insane fingerprint magnet of Lenovo’s X1 Carbon. It’s matte finish body is horribly bad with fingerprints and grease even with freshly-washed hands. The trackpad looks terrible after just minutes from cleaning it. Funny how nobody on the internet seems to care even though Thinkpads are equally as expensive and even higher priced than MacBooks.

Thanks for the review. I traded in my M1 MacBook Air for an M2 as soon as I could because with 8GB of RAM, I had severe SSD wear caused by insane write levels associated with swapping (often hundreds of GB written per day by kernel_task). This time I got 16GB. The machine is a dream; I have no complaints at all.

I bought the classic silver because I’m OCD about fingerprints and smudges, personally I think it looks classy and not many people will choose it so it will stand out from the crowd. As regards audio, the Boom 3D audio app massively improves the sound for bobbins.
