In my country base M2 Air is ~ 1600 € 🙄 maxed out goes beyond 2200 €
THANK YOU. I’m still torn between the M2Air and the M1Pro, but this review helps a lot and certainly what I needed to see.
Great review!
I never store any photos on my machine, always external ssd
Being a first time viewer, I loved the quick and to the point explanations. Looking forward to more videos. 👍🏻
great review thank you very much, but I have one question your opinion is very important. we understand that a 14-inch base model is a great option and more logical to buy that one instead of upgrading the m2 air, but what can you say about the m2 MacBook pro and upgrading that one to 16GB and 512GB? yes, I understand that this one also comes very close to the 14-inch MacBook base model, and yes I understand that this one does not have the same display as the 14-inch also touch-bar but just a moment forget about the touch-bar and display, liking touch-bar or not liking it is a very subjective thing. the argument that you and all people bringing is that if you are coming that much closer to 14 inches with an upgrade price for 200 or 300 more you can buy 14 inches but 200 or 300 is still a lot of money if you care about display quality you can upgrade 13-inch MacBook m2 pro upgrade it and not getting 14 inches and instead of adding 200 or 300 to buy 14 inches you can add 200 more and for total 500 $ buy very solid color accurate 4k monitor, what can you say about this scenario?
But you can’t compare 16gb pro to the base line model you are using
Hi! I am a hobby photographer (I’m using a canon 6d) and i want to upgrade my basic lenovo laptop (i5 8gb/256gb and some crappy intel graphics card) to a macbook. I stuck between two options: the base macbook air m2 and the the mb air m1 with 16gb ram. Which would be better? Which would last longer? This is the maximum i can afford. Or should I consider a not apple laptop? Great video anyways!
base 8gb but the 512 ssd? Will that be good enough for sports photography?
Thanks a lot, Chris. You really made a great video!! I’m a student and I’m a super lover of taking photos. And my camera is Sony A7R3A and Sony A600. For the past, I used my PC to edit the RAWs which are shot by them. I always use Lightroom and Photoshop to do the edit work. Now I just wanna separate my hobbies from my science research work. I’m going to buy a MacBook but I still can NOT decide which one is suit for me. That’s MacBook Pro M1 pro 8CPU 14GPU 16G-512G and MacBook Air M2 8CPU 14GPU 16G-512G. Which one do you recommend for me? I really hope that you could help me! Thanks a lot! 🙏🙏🙏
Hey Chris, Im a wedding photographer and I edit on my iMac M1, but I’ve been looking for something portable that I can take with when I’m travelling, so it won’t be my main editing device AND I do keep all my photos on a Lacie External. I also work with Lightroom Catalogs so my photos are already imported with previews loaded on the catalog which is stored on my external drive.
Do you think the M2 Air would be fine since I keep my catalogs on an external and will only be using the Laptop when I’m travelling?
Sony A7iv is my main body, so my files are quite large.
Dude, do you blink?
Beautiful review. Thank you.
I’m planning to buy M2 Air. I’ll need to edit 4k. Videos around 15 GB size in IMovies. You think I would be okay with that?
You kept assuming people who buy base MBA won’t use high pixel camera or high gamut monitor. This makes this review quite limited. I have 16″ M1 Max maxed out for local work with files from GFX100 and 100S. I am looking for a review for a lighter laptop for traveling and felt this review could be better.
You my friend really deliver good content!
Chris, thank you very much for your review. I’ve been wondering about which computer to get, also with the idea in mind that I should anticipate the evolution and increase of my workflow in the near future. I wasn’t sure that the Macbook Air M2 would be enough; you addressed some of my concerns and helped a lot. Thanks man!!
Thanks a lot !!!
Thanks for the video, Chris! I think I’ll get the mbp m1 pro 14 more than the M2. One question, will the base model of mbp 14 with 16GB be enough for Lr and Ps to run at the same time without lag?
“I use Photoshop for every single photo I edit for clients.”
5 seconds later
“I didn’t do any deep dives into Photoshop”
Thanks Chris for this great review. Subscribed 😉🙏
