Haven’t watched the video yet so you might have come to the same conclusion but I think the m2 is plenty powerful for photo workflows. I think the m1 was powerful enough. 8gb of ram is the issue that holds it back from being the perfect lightweight photography machine though. That’s been the bottleneck with my m1 air and the reason I still use my older imac.
Another great video. It’s good to see channels help others rather than selling a product. I bought the M1 MacBook Pro 7 months ago when released. Only if I knew that Apple would release this model with the M2 chip. I Would of saved $$$$$
Nice PRX!
Would 8gb 256ssd be fine for office work( excel, pdf, browsing more than 10 nd more tab simultaneously) or 8gb 512ssd will be good decision?
Nice video! I just ordered the 10 GPU, 24GB, 1 TB M2 Air. I hope it performs lightroom tasks moderately better than the base model 🙏. I’m shooting with a Nikon Z7.
Another great review on the M2 Macbook air. Very informative.
I would be interested to see a test with a config better suited for heavy processing (i.e. Sony A7RIV 65mp files) , trying this torture test on this basic model would be misleading, specifically, I’d like to know how an M2 MBA 16gb/1TB compares with a similar M1 MBP PRO or Max
Great review, thank you! I see a fair few comparisons with the M2/M1, but how about someone with an 2015 Mac Pro who is an amateur photographer/editor upgrading to the new Mac Air. Is the Mac Air M2 enough to cope with photoshop, lighroom, premier, and heavy weekend usage? Or should I think of the M1 Pro? Appreciate your time.
Thank you for this real world review; seeing both the pro-level and more hobby level work flow performance really helps clarify where to spend the $$$. Keep it going!
Hello Chris. I am a photograher and i do lightroom editing and sometimes might use premiere pro. Would macbook air m2 or go for macbook pro m2
Nice this made my choice to return it easier , thank you
I edit gopro videos on my ipad pro using lumafusiom and I am planning to switch to MacBook for final cut pro. I don’t mind how long export takes, I just don’t want to have any lags while editing.
I decided to go with an upgraded MacBook air m2 because it’s light weight and mobility as most of my editing will be while sitting in bed or on the couch.
I will give a try for 14 days, If I don’t like its performance , i will return it and get the MacBook 14 pro
Thanks for the review… What would you suggest (for the same pro photo /video editing) if it was between the M1 Mini 16GB, 1TB versus M2 Air 10GPU, 24GB, 512GB? I will mostly be using it plugged into a monitor at home. Thanks again!
Great video!!
I’m not a photographer but sometime in the future i would like to be.i have the intel chip 2018 MacBook air, should i upgrade?
Hi sir I use Canon eos r5. I do photography currently, but I want to try doing video soon too. Do you thing 1TB,16GB on MacBook pro 14inch is good enough to edit 4k 120fps and 8k raw? Or I better get 32GB ram?
Great video Chris! I was on the fence between the Air and the Pro, you helped me see the Pro will be better for my expanding photography business. Thanks!
As travel and photo enthusiast, I would prefer the lighter and more compact Air M2 with the upgraded memory and storage. There is no way I would carry the Pro 14 with all my camera gears when I travel. So it depends on the individuals i guess. I’m willing to lose seconds or even minutes on processing for a lighter gear.
This is the first video I watch from your channel, you were very clear in the explanation. It’s like the Air M2 is stuck in the middle: too expensive for simple tasks like Safari/youtube/Mails/iWork and not suitable for intense photography/videography task like photo/video editing, it can do these things but not in a fast proper way. I’m curious about the new 14 inches Pro M2, will it be really better than the M1 Pro one?
PS: is your surname really Pieta or Pietà? Pietà means “mercy” in Italian
Great video! What brand/model on your screen on your desk?
