I’m planning to get the M2 MBA with 8/512 configuration.. I’m a writer and journalist, working with mostly chrome (50+ tabs), Microsoft Word, and occasional Photoshop.. will it serve me well for the next 5 years, or do I need to get a 16gb ram for that?

Love your reviews. Got my m2 starlight but may exchange it to grey or silver. MBA m1 still looks great design vise and overall value.

Really love the review and that new air. Really dont need a laptop but one of these days i might make the jump. Worried i may need windows for some software specifically but otherwise a great little machine. Miss my old air from like 10 or 12 years ago. That thing was a tank!

To be clear. If and only if, you plan to game on the side on this fanless MacBook, even native World of Warcraft, just DO NOT! It thermal throttles even on lowish settings especially raids. Even playing geforcenow, it heals up after a few hours!

If you use this laptop for its intended use, then, it is a VERY GOOD LAPTOP!

This laptop can easily replace an iPad (if you don’t have much need for the Apple Pencil).

Idiots who bash the Air 2 are fools whom are comparing it with the 14 and 16 pro models, YOU ARE NOT THE TARGET MARKET.

I for one, had to go get the PRO as I game on the side, but if I didn’t, this laptop would have been perfect

This is the BEST M2 Air video I have seen!!

God you are selling it to me man 💻🥹. Currently using an M1 Pro 16GB but this is the most beautiful model they’ve ever made 💻💦

Look at it. It’s the best chassis! Like an ultra portable M1 Pro/Max 14″ shape. I didn’t go over 7GB RAM today while creating music, so I really don’t need more than 8GB memory. You have done real work with it, it’s great to see!

Plus they’ve gone back to the speaker design that I preferred when making beats on the 2015 Intel Air

(Intel 🤢) the fans 😂😭

I could never go back now. It’s been a year and I’m in love with Apple Silicon. I’d give up use an iPad if I had to. Fan noise is ancient now. Older Mac owners, I love you all, but upgrade. It’s a completely different experience.

If it feels slow doing one task on the M1, like even opening an app. Close it and re-open. Mhm.. immediate the second time👌🏽

It’s got a robot ting inside 🤖🇯🇲🎺 it learns like an iOS device

I don’t think I need fans – mine only made a sound once when i did an online stress test thing (a moderately weak test to see core strength).

Once again, great video buddy. I’ll get to Apple in Köln, Germany asap!

Waiting for the Macbook Air to arrive. Upgrading from MBP 2017. As much as I would love to stick with MBP [I do a lot of coding stuff], i dont know why why they got rid of the MacSafe charger for the new MBP. This Macbook Air is an immediate yes for me with the new design and ESPECIALLY the Macsafe charger which give me an extra USB-C port

Thanks a lot for your honest, straight to the point and realistic review. You properly addressed the issue that this M2 MBA is not meant for everyone. It’s very powerful device, specially if you compare it to the Intel MacBooks, but we shouldn’t forget that we are still talking about the AIR. For pros doing pro work, you have the 14″ and 16″ MBP with the M1 Pro and M1 Max. And I have to admit that Apple has finally manage to make a PRO laptop a PRO-like performance. The M2 is a slight improvement over the M1, but we shouldn’t forget we are talking about an AIR machine.

I’m going to college in a few months and I plan to get a new laptop and am considering getting a macbook air. Will the base model of the M2 air be alright for me if all I’d probably be doing is surf and use word or zoom? Or should I just get an M1 air?

I just ordered mine with 16 Gigs of ram and 500 storage! Upgrading from an hp pavilion I got back in 2012 😂

I loved the new design of this laptop, but I already got a MacBook Air M1 which offers same performance (maybe even better?). I won’t be upgrading since it would be silly just for thinner vessels, square design and a notch 😂
I use it mainly for working on the go. I do pretty heavy graphics work such as 3D modeling/rendering and photo/video editing. This laptop can do well with photo and video, but can’t keep up with 3D rendering. Though the way I use this laptop for 3D is with Remote Desktop, so I can control my Desktop PC with the MacBook. And it works pretty well! I’m very happy with my M1.
