Rene, the fact is the M1 with the two 128k chip set is much faster that the single 256k module in file transfer and cache and that is the information any educated consumer. It was a bad thing that Apple did and they knew it.

Rene, I’ve now started to call my 16” M1 Max MBP a ‘Portable Workstation Computer’. This thing is amazing. It replaced a 15” 2014 i7 MBP and the difference is almost indescribable. The MBP performs way better than I expected. We also just bought the M2 MBA 512GB. I like the MBP because of the screen size (eye don’t perform like they used to…).

Apple should have just cancelled that sku and started the base model at 512G. In this day and age 256G gets gobbled up by OS updates and is barely usable.

The M2 MacBook Air is a slight upgrade of the M1 machine. The M1 device will not disappear soon as it fits a huge audience that doesn’t have pro needs. Hence, I don’t think there is drama here; people have a variety of choices.

Pretty sure you can still charge MagSafe laptops with usb-c so adding options is definitely a plus

does rene have a computer engineer degree ? curious. as a current university student in the field he mentioned a lot of important topics we look at when creating chip architecture with like the writing in parallelism, writing in serial, and skew all things that are hard to understand unless you’re designing or manufacturing.

This review was on point. Critical when it needs to, but at the same time taking consideration about what this machine is and where it fits into the family. Also a great comment on the black anodised aluminium! No reviewer would ever say something that honest, but Rene will.

Sorry, your wrong, the M1 MBA is a far superior bang for buck and if you want to spend the extra, you can get more storage or ram.

Am I silly in only just noticing this back drop is a green screen or is it just in this video? Or is my video quality a bit off making it seem a bit green screen?
