I’ll wait for m3 chips
Yes but it all depends on the price for the higher specs.
thhxxxx
I had an M1 mini and I really wanted an M2 mini with more RAM. Well I now own 14 inch M1 Max with 32 GB RAM. There’s nothing I can not do with it. Also, with covid not an issue anymore and travel opening up, mini might not be best choice for a longer term.
Yawn, the insane greed of Apple will continue! I you want memory and storage, Apple will charge you four times the market price! Forget Apple!
an m2 pro mac mini with 32gb ram & 1tb storage would be perfect
Mac mini Pro with M2 Pro hits the sweet spot for me and is precisely what I’m waiting for. I love the Mac Studio but is way more than I need these days. Of course, everything is a wee bit more powerful than my first Mac , a Mac SE with 1mb RAM, a massive 20MB internal HD, and, of course, a SuperDrive (which back then was an FDHD floppy capable of holding 1.44 MB and able to read from and write to DOS formatted disks.)
Most of us have a “wishlist” Mac. For me, the new chip is not as important to me as storage. I would like to have the option for 4 or 8tb internal storage.
Why do tech pundits act like a bunch of fashion pundits? Always looking for change in the looks of a device. When did tech become so GQ?
All that Apple needs to do with the Mac mini, and Mac mini Pro is a simple spec bump to the M2 SOC’s. Do think as far as a M2 Mac mini Pro they could also add more ports to the front with the same ones as the basic Mac Studio.
For me why did I not purchase the M1 Mac mini? Almost came down to flip of a coin M1 Mac mini, or M1 MacBook Air back in March 2022. Thing is with the M1 MacBook Air, and an external monitor like the Studio Monitor I can set these up in a two screen configuration if I want to. Also the M1 MacBook Air gives me the option to take it with me, and use remotely if I have the need.
Now if I had the need for the “Pro” versions I think I still would go with something like a M2 MacBook Pro 16 inch with an external Apple Studio Monitor. Go big, or stay home.
There will be no M2 Pro/Max/Ultra.
Apple will skip it and go straight to M3 Pro/Max/Ultra/Extreme on 3 nanos
I really can’t wait for this M2 Pro Mac mini 😩
Feel like we could see them leave the M1 Mac mini in the lineup at the current price point and then the M2 Mac mini will cost more. M1 is still a very capable chip
Like the rumored M2 Pro Mac Mini you describe as well. Will look to buy it with at least 24GB of memory. Increased number of ports you described comparable to Intel-based Mini is also a big “desirement”. Suspect I’ll be comparing and contrasting with the anticipated updated 14″ MacBook Pro. Realize it’s a bit of an apples and oranges comparison but, it may be that for a few dollars more, the MacBook will hit the sweet spot. March can’t come fast enough!
Isn’t the M2 more power hungry?. If I want a low watt using Mac Mini would I be better off getting the old.
Nice video..but It’s pure speculation ….. it’s just guessing at this time …:)))) Make us dream…..:))))))
I like my M1 Mini. It does everything I can throw at at. Cinema 4d, etc
Been waiting for an iMac with a bigger screen , since the m1 version landed ( getting tired of waiting), I may weaken for the Mac mini , it wouldn’t be bad if apple offered the Mac mini with an optional bundle with keyboard and mouse with maybe some monitor options too.
I like the idea of buying a tailored package so it all just works.
MacMini Pro will kill most of the sales of MacStudio. Most bloggers will be satisfied with MacMini Pro.
If Apple really was happy to keep ‘old’ designs in the line-up then they should have just put Apple Silicon internals in the 27″ 5K iMac and kept selling it. Would have been super easy for them, barely an inconvenience!
Will the mini version support two thunderbolt displays?
