Well, as for me…i rather get the Macbook Air M2 because I can take it to travel with me. I can get my work done not tied to a desk and monitor. To me, this Mini desktop is no use. I don’t want to sit on a desk for using it. I rather have a good laptop that free me from a desk.
Waiting for M2 macbook air 15 inch
Apple nees to update Mac Mini asap, old case new case whatever, put M2 8 core, 10 core etc with upgrade options to Mac Mini Pro.
Better yet when they release next version of Mac Studio’s, offer all the SOC upgrade options on Mac Mini from Mac Studio, minus Ultra as cooling would not be sufficient for Mac Mini. Max Mac Mini 10 core cpu 32 core gpu, will work fine on Mac Mini currect case, after all it cooled volcano Intel cpu’s.
The rumored M2 Pro Mac mini you’re describing probably would have been a perfect fit for me, but I made the move from my M1 Mac mini to the base Studio Max last March. Definitely some overkill but I’ve always been glad I made the move.
I will wait to see if the M2 Pro Mac Mini is significantly better than the M1 Max Mac Studio. I don’t suspect it is.
If not, I’ll wait even longer to see if an M2 Max Mac Studio comes out and whether it’s a financially doable via trade-in or sale.
Mac Mini Skip M1 Pro
What intrigues me the most is how much will the maxed out Mac mini pro overlap with the base Mac Studio Max.
An M2-PRO Mac mini with at least 24GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD would be a terrific desktop machine for almost everybody. To keep the cost down, I’d be happy with the same basic design and and ports as the current Intel Mini if they substituted TB4 for the TB3 ports. Think about that for a minute. It could be a brilliantly priced desktop powerhouse that avoids infringing on the M?-MAX Mac Studio, especially if the Max version of the Studio is baselined with a 1TB SSD, which it really ought to be.
so this video is about what exactly ?
I almost pulled the trigger on an M1 Mini but in the end it wasn’t quite have enough for me so the M2 looks great.
The only thing that I wonder about is pricing. For example, if you spec out an M2 MacBook Air to 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, it brings you close(-ish) to 14” MBP territory (I just spent the extra for the 14). With Apple’s RAM pricing history, I have a feeling that an upgraded M2 Pro Mini might also be close enough to a base Studio that I might pass on this as well. But we’ll just have to wait and see.
Running Linux on all my Macs because Apple is a woke company that hates humanity
Value? Lol they’ll raise the price.
Have been waiting for the whole year…. Sad I need to wait another 5 months. Idk if I should get something now or just do some minor upgrades (new ssd drive) for my 2012 Macbook Air in the meantime.
Price in Euro: M2 Pro Mac Mini 32GB ram 1TB SSD – what’s your best guess? Anyone?
The M1 Mac mini is/was great, but needing a bit more and tiring of this or that speculation about a coming Mini-Pro, I gave in and got a Studio Max about a month ago. It’s fine and fast and I can’t see price-pointing around in the market anytime soon. That said, a new M2 Mac-Mini Pro configured and priced in a way that equals the bang for the buck as the M1 Mac mini did/does, could give me pause. I don’t see how that’s possible, given Apple’s recent pricing posture regarding M2.
My basic model M1 Mac mini is plenty fast enough to do everything that I would ever want to do on a computer and I got it with a 3 years of apple care for $699. Not bad.
I want a bigger iMac 😊
Thank you, for another excellent comment video. I agree, with all of your comments on the new base M-2 mac mini model. However, I do not expect Apple to release a “mac mini pro” model even less now that they also sell the Mac Studio. Because, why would someone buy a baseline Mac Studio if, they could just pick-up a “mac mini pro” with four (4) thunderbolt ports? What Apple might do at their Spring event, is introduce a new 27-inch iMac. As for myself since, I do not think there will ever be a “mac mini pro” desktop model. So for now, I will stay happy using with what, I picked up eariler this year a used space gray “trash can” size 2014, Mac Pro 8-core/ D700/ 64GB (smile…smile).
Greg, all I’ve heard is that the Mac Mini stays as Mac Mini, no Pro version
I already have a Mac Studio, so I think I’ll stick with that for a couple of more years before upgrading it.
