I have been saying this since the announcement. If you’re looking for a mini go with the “regular” M2 variants. If you think about the M2 Pro you better get a Mac Studio instead. All because of the money you have to spend.

The base model of all M2 Macs only has a 256 Gb none upgradable SSD. Not only is this too little but more importantly selecting this configuration will result in a slow system. This is because in all 256 Gb M2 Macs there is only one and not two Flash memory modules soldered onto its motherboard. This halves the rate of data transfer to the SSD by comparison with any entry level M1 Mac. I would like to beg all purchasers of any M2 Mac to pay an extra $200 for a 512 Gb SSD to create a balanced fast system.

You need 10Gbps eth to match M1 Studio, so M2 Pro Mini is more expensive in the end :(.

I guess I’m gonna update my PC with RTX 4080 instead of buying MAC. But will see when there are benchmarks out (or rather real case uses).

Comparing the M2 Pro mini and M2 Pro MBP… If you already have mouse, keyboard and monitor (which is my case) you’ll of course keep the $700 savings. Which makes a great deal again!
I think it’s definitely a point to Apple!

I’ve been subscribed to this channel for years. Love this content. However, in the past couple of videos your color correction looks a bit off. Looks like it’s being filmed on an iPhone XS with HDR making your skin tone looked too washed out.

Something is out of balance at Apple. The Mac Studio makes no sense as a purchase since the mini is cheaper and more powerful. That makes no sense. I’m holding onto my wallet.

The Mini Pro for just over $2k is the sweet spot for me. I can see easily using it for the next two or three years. The Studio will have the M2 Ultra soon so if I’m wrong I’ll just upgrade then.
