Where did you get that shelving system
God bless the mans who removed that stupid fancy-pancy touchbar
I purchased the 16” max with 64gig ram and 2tb SSD. Love love love it. I have 3 monitors plugged in but never close the unit itself so I haven’t experienced the crashing described in the review. So that’s it, so much better than my 2019 MacBook Pro which was very disappointing.
Love the CLE in the background!!! Go Browns!!!
Let me tell you one thing, you dont need this powerful machine. As far as i can see from your videos and edits you need to invest on backgrounds and lighting. I am sure this way your videos will be much better.
I got the same super slow SD card transfer speed bug! For me, it said that the system would take 9 days to transfer 300GB data. Thankfully, I did not stop the transfer process and waited for about 20 minutes, suddenly the speed was back to normal! The transfer speed kept around 140MB/s steadily until the end of transfer.
You’ve chosen Final Cut Pro over Premiere Pro? That surprises me.
Is ANYBODY ELSE having their AirPods 3 and any PREVIOUS generation AirPods connected to their Macs iPhones iPads etc AUTOMATICALLY UNPAIRING FROM their iCloud accounts??
I believe this started happening to me after iOS 15.2.1 was released
Everyone has different dongles and software. Look at your software to see if it is native instead of using rosette. None of your issues will affect me since I am just going to use my MacBook Pro Mi Pro. Not carrying the laptop either. Weight is not an issue…
Can’t wait to have a new iMac 27” with an M1 Max
Nice video!
By the way which iPod model is behind you?
1G or 2G?
HDMI, SD and MagSafe are waste of space!
No need for all of them ☹️. I need my 4th USB-C
My M1 macbook air and pro have TB issues in dropping connection with attached USB devices which at times has led to kernel panics. Better/different cables have helped (ie TB-4 or USB 3.2) provided improved success, but didn’t eliminate all issues. Apple updates have helped some, but it also seems to be issues with power draw and possibly channel data saturation. I have a streaming setup where everything was connected into the Air via one TB-4 cable going to the OWC TB4 dock that Dan showed. I had a USB-C monitor, external HD, USB-C streaming stick, 2.5 GB network and USB 2.0 hub all plugged into the TB4 dock. It worked but my USB mic or streaming stick would at times disconnect or fail to reconnect when brining the computer out of sleep. My most recent change was to connect the USB-C monitor directly to the laptop via a second TB-4 port. I then balanced my high data devices between the two ports and connect highed power draw items to powered hubs rather than the mac providing power. It has been going well the last few days, but time will tell. Overall the M1 TB-4 ports seem to be having teething issues and not as robust as the TB-4 port on my 2018 Intel MB Pro, which just worked.
Zero crash at all for me since launch day. Running through the exact thunderbolt hub as you do. Outputting to three 4K 144hz.
My 4TB Internal NVME works just fine. No slow down at all and I move large files (15GB to 35GB) very often daily.
I’m properly 1/3 your weight and half your size but I can carry the 16 inch for 15 – 20 miles when I hike no problem. Not sure what’s the big deal with the size and weight complaints every youtuber is complaining about.
I like the peanut butter jar behind you
I’m tired to see my 4k external monitor flickering every day and I can’t fix it unless restarting my MacBook Pro 14. When Apple will release an update to fix these issues….
@MacRumors: I have the same exact MacBook spec as you. No crashing problems, but I have not been using external peripherals yet. Love the machine. Half the games in my Steam library run in Parallels Windows 11 very well. My only disappointment is the battery life. I tested it running just Chrome with a Youtube video repeating and it lasted 9 hours maximum. Most of the time with light usage it seems to last 4-6 hours. If I have Parallels running it’s more like 3-4 hours. I cannot understand how your laptop lasts you 8-9 hours doing video editing/rendering. Maybe my laptop is partially defective. But then again I saw another YouTuber who was able to kill the battery in an M1 Max in an hour by running a heavy-duty benchmarking app non-stop. Bottom line, I feel Apple lied through their teeth about the expected battery life. A claimed 17 hours is someone’s LSD trip.
I think the kernel panic crashes are related to the hub, in particular any external drives you have connected through it (you use a NAS though but it could be your SD card). I get a fair few kernel panic crashes on my 27″ 2020 iMac, which is caused by a thunderbolt external SSD, or a USB A connected HDD, and sometimes even just an SD card. I started getting the crashes with the big Sur update and I always got them when I tried to shut down, computer would crash, restart, then I would be able to shut down… I also have a 16″ M1 Pro MacBook Pro which always has an external monitor connected to it (most of the time) and sometimes has an external drive connected to it but it hasn’t crashed once since I got it.. so I thought it was maybe an issue with the Darwin kernel running on intel x86 processors, but interesting to hear you get it on the 64 bit arm processors in apple silicon… anyway, try unplugging the doc and seeing if that helps.
Great video from MacRumors, I hope to get one and feel the experience MacBook Pro 💻
GREAT ALBUM TO BE BLASTING!!!!
