I use Linux Ubuntu 20.04 on an ASUS Vivobook 16GB RAM, paid less than 800$ and I run Android Studio, Chrome and emulator simultaneously seamlessly, I would not buy a MAC unless I need to do iOS-related stuff.

I was just debating whether to buy the Macbook Pro M1 or the Macbook Air M1. The fact that you can edit 4k video on your Macbook Air M1 just convinced me to get that one instead. Thanks Stefan.

you titled this if this computer is good for “coders”, but yet you only talked about how great it is for “rendering video”
coders don’t render video
how does it handle with docker?
can I use my production docker setup on this mac?
how well does it perform with coding IDEs?
do all modern IDE’s have m1 capable releases

I’ve just got an iPad 8th gen (because I am a student and my budget doesn’t reach the costlier iPads), and for my use case it has been extremely helpful and enjoyable!

If a computer can handle 4K video edits, it can do just about anything (power wise) in terms of coding. I should have been explicit about that.
