i’m getting my first ever Macbook M1, but which one should i get:
M1 Macbook Air with 16gb ram or the base model of M1 Macbook air with 8gb ram?

Im going to use it for school….word, excel, powerpoint, Discord, browsing, Netflix and youtube.

I wouldn’t say the “worst apple silicon chip”… you could of said for example “The beginning of apple silicon and the chips from now on are just going to get better and better…”. Your phrasing of what I believe is the same thing, is kind of negative!

So you used your MacBook air for less than 10 months and put over 5,000 hours of use on it?. How?. I’d really like to understand how you actually sleep at night. There’s only 8,760 hours in a full year. This review came out 10 months after it released on 11-10-20. That’s just simply insane or a play on words. Or numbers.

Hello, need help with deciding if I should get the 8GB or 16GB of the M1 air.
I’m thinking of using it as an on the go work/entertainment laptop. I usually work on Adobe Photoshop with digital drawings with effects nothing too professional, occasionally Adobe after effects for some short motion graphics and to learn coding/programming (node js/react js or Flutter).
I already have a windows desktop workstation.
I only need something that can help work on whenever I’m away from the desktop.
Which should I get? 8GB or 16GB?

I’m planning to buy MacBook Air M1 in ₹63000 rupees. The warranty is expiring on 7th October and seller don’t have bill box so should I buy it? It’s battery cycle count is 22.

guess what, the M1 chip is still great after 2 years. Unbeatable efficiency, and great value. And M2 chip is just too expensive for people to upgrade, and the specs are not that impressive, not a generational jump like the M1 chip. I think m1 is here to stay, and there is not too much point in creating a more powerful chip. Apple should spend time optimise stuff for the arm system.

One thing you forgot: you have the full power of m1 even when its unplugged from electricity. Windows machines lose around 20% of power.
