I’m one of the poor souls who didnt wait for M1 and got i3. Press F for ya boy
Yes! Vadim rules, Max not so much…
I am going to be really pissed off if the new M2 MacBook Air doesn’t come in a version with black bezels!!! It’s like their new marketing strategy is to frustrate Apple customers into not buying their products. Real geniuses!!!
Great content. Exactly the video I was waiting for.
I have apple mac mini m1 2020 it about 20 days old and it’s fan is always on at 1700 rpm even though not a single component heats! I reinstalled mac os monterey! What to do now? Is it only a software issue?
Commenting from a M1 MBA based model: I absolutely recommend it to everyone, amazing machine, I describe it as a quite lion 🦁
These colors in the renders of the future M2 MacBook Air (?) are really horrible. Hope this is a mistake in calibrating the hues in the render because, hurf!
It is still the best laptop ever made. I am insanely excited for the M2 though.
I bought the M1 Air back in August. It is, by far, the best computer I ever owned. It was the first laptop I ever bought with my own money, and I’m proud of that because of how good it is. Also, bit of advice, it’s better to buy the M1 Air from Apple’s certified refurbished store. You can get the M1 Air for $849, $50 less than buying it from Amazon. “Certified refurbished” from Apple is basically brand new. I got my MacBook Air from the Apple certified refurbished store and I have no problems with it at all. Also, there are more configurations available in certified refurbished and they’re all discounted as well.
I just got a new Air 16g and it’s been great! FCPX is smooth. Thin, very light, no fan. I love it! And I’ll just get the new Mac mini whenever that comes out as my main editing comp. it’ll most likely be the best computing deal in tech by far when it drops. So seems like a good 3 year+ combo for me personally!
Do you think they could keep the M1 chip in the new body and keep M2 for a new gen in fall or early 2023.
Air 16/512 is a great laptop at a very good price… Apple will have a hard time to set the balanced price for new MacBook M2… If it will be too high, people may choose Pro 14″… They should make some cleanup within the MacBook line, otherwise it will be soon even harder to choose which one to buy…
Got MacBook Air M1 second tiered one 512ssd & 8 GPU. Absolutely satisfied 100,000%
I do photography, still on a 2013 15″ MBP. If the MBA came in 14″ I would pick it up in a heartbeat. If the M1 MBA runs circles around the 16″ Intel MBP, I KNOW that it will be more than enough for my workflow with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. BUT, no way am I downgrading to a 13″ screen. So I will just have to wait and save enough for a 14″ MBP.
The M1 MBA 16/512 is a superb machine. It handles everything I throw at it with ease, including 4K video editing. I love the wedge design for typing and how light and portable it is. I picked mine up from the Apple certified refurbished store a few months ago for $1229 USD and I couldn’t be happier. Cheers!
I have the M1 MacBook air, and it’s amazing, but my brother decided it wasn’t worth it. He needs the old USB-A and HDMI ports for work and he does not like to use adapters.
Bought the base model for $800 at Costco for my son in high school. He loves it.
Best value for sure. Air makes me wonder if pro models are worth the money. 🤓🤓🤓
Excellent review But man, no one talks about contrast-ratio, side bleadings, the color accuracy vs… Let’s say an XPS or etc, response time.
But I’ll take your words for it man
Macbook Air does not cost $1100 less than 14″ MacBook pro. You are not comparing like with like (in terms of specs, e.g., SSD size and RAM). Reviewers keep doing this.
If we compare them with specs in common (16 gb RAM and 512gb SSD), the price difference is about $500. So for the MBP 14″, we pay $500 extra for extra features of: MagSafe, 2 more USB C ports, HDMI port, SD card slot, and bigger screen.
In addition, if you hold on to your laptop for a few years, you may find that fans are more likely to be needed in years to come. MBAs may then experiencing issues related to heat.
Also, if MBA is being sold for $900 on Amazon, it may be refurbished or previously sold.
If you don’t need more than 256 gb SSD and 8 gb RAM, and you don’t keep your laptop for long before upgrading, then yes, buying the MBA as described is the way to go.
My only preference with the air would be the battery life – it’s excellent.
