I’m still rocking my almost base level M1 Air and I absolutely love it. I’m a bit torn on what upgrade I want to get at some point, I love the idea that the new Air will be colorful, but I also am tempted to upgrade to an M1 Pro 14″. I’ll probably wait for a 14″ M2 Pro, since a year in my Air is still easily keeping up with every task I need it to do.

The biggest problem of M1 for me is I can’t connect two external monitors to it even I willing to disable the internal one.

It got enough power to process it but no monitor for me to interact with

8:28 Personality I don’t agree that a $300 price increase would prevent someone from buying the new M2 MacBook Air. Between now and the mid 2022 release date is more than enough time to save for any price increase 😎

Hey guys,
I bought a macbook air 8/256gb varient last month for editing my you tube videos.
Its super fast and the m1 chip is very good but I have faced a lot of problems with the 8gb of ram i use final cut pro and it’s a very heavy software that it consumes all of the ram and the app didn’t respond sometimes as my storage was also full 😥 it was very disturbing as I was working of the video of 5-6 hrs and the software was not working because of the ram the finder app was popping up again and again and I had to force quit final cut pro.
This mac is best for light usage and if you want to buy this for editing purposes I don’t suggest this.
Final cut pro produces a lot of render fines and other heavy files so my storage is full within few minutes of edit 😭. I have to delete other things to carry on. If you have a solution for that please let me know.
Spend more money and buy the mac with atleast 16 GB ram and 512 gb storage it would be the best.
I will buy the new Mac book with M1 pro chip soon. So my problem would be finished and I would do my editing without issues 😉.

Ok I’m in a dilemma right now, I don’t own a laptop and Im starting college next month I’m majoring in computer science and I don’t know what MacBook to get , any advice??

I’ve never thought of buying a MacBook but after watching your videos since last December I decided to go with M1 MacBook air. It helped to make a good decision as I’m in a asian country (Sri Lanka) purchasing an Apple product is expansive but I’m so much happy now with it and I have no complains about my mac.

The apple tactic is pretty easy. The most desired config 16GB/512GB always cost around $2000. Gonna be $100 ish difference between air, pro, and mini. So you always end up the most expensive model because it is just $100ish upgrade

honestly, the current macbook air is my favorite design. Considering this is the only machine with this design and M1, it is the best laptop for quiet a while to come.

the thing that i hate the most about the current air is the screen. these are thicc bezells for nowadays standards but either way I’m planning to get a MacBook pro 14 for music production, doubt the air would handle this stuff and i will prolly need at least 2 monitors

I think you’re spot on with all your thoughts. The only thing I would add is, if you need a new computer, buy the M1 Air right now. If you really want the M2 in a year, you’ll have a computer worth a good bit to trade in toward it.

I love my M1 MacBook Air I have the base model and it’s more than enough plus as a writer and small business owner this is way better then my 2014 MacBook Air which I used for school for over 5 years
