I just picked up a MacBook Air M1 this week. What a remarkable machine. My first Air was in 2013 and it served me well for five years before being handed down to my stepdaughter for her use at school. I have a MacBook Pro from 2012 which I continue to use because of the DVD player but with this new Air M1, I will definitely be enjoying the speed and the lightweight of a great laptop.
I plan on buying the M1 MacBook Air, don’t care for the white bezels and keyboard. Great review and information!
Just Picked The M1 Macbook air I just find it useless to wait for the m2 this machine is a beast
I have bought the Air M1 on September 1st and the Max Battery dropped to 99%. Is this normal?
Edit : The battery is at 95%🥲
i really just want a 16 inch macbook, dont need the power
Dear Macs users, I’m planning to buy a macbook pro 14inch. Has anyone faced display problems on 14 Inch. @Nabeel Sir, pls advise as well.
The new MacBooks are probably gonna look hideous so I’m glad I already got a M1 model
I got the m1 air 16gb and a m1 mini 16gb. Love them both!
Thanks!
Agree with poster. I have been using the base version (only 7 gpus!!!) and have had no issues at all. I have edited video (multiple layers, multi 4K and with fusion) and it handles it fine. Only pushback is when you use some very expensive fusion effects – but that hampers the pros too.
Everyday tasks are a breeze, chrome and g suite for work, office 365 personal. Even Rosetta apps work fine.
Coding is also great. This laptop is incredible.
Only thing I can say negative is I have never got anywhere close to the 17 hours battery life. I can get a full 8-10 hours and I am using it pretty much constantly (zoom if nothing else – and zoom used to kill my old Mac pro in a couple of hours).
From my angle I would 100% recommend this to nearly everyone unless
– you want a bigger screen
– need to run virtualisation software
– want to pay a fortune to avoid dongles.
– are a professional video/graphics editor
– somehow need 16gb+ ram
The next MacBook Air would still have the M1. Base model 8 core cpu 8 core gpu. Just different colors
What do you think of the current 13.3” MBP with touchbar vs the MBA? They have some on sale for $1149.
Thank you for the video. Was thinking upgrading and wonder if I should wait. But I won’t wait anymore.
I bought an M1 air back in middle of last year. And it has been an amazing machine. Replaced my current at the time ‘carry everywhere in my backpack’ laptop. (Dell latitude E6230). I have never had a time when it felt like it didnt have enough power no matter what i was doing on it. And i have only ever had one time when i managed to kill the battery in a day. But even that wasnt a big deal as i already carry a powerbank which does 18w output on USB C and the macbook happily charged off that even while in use despite being just over half the wattage of the 30w charger the mac came with. Even after 6 months of use i have only put just over 50 cycles on the battery because it just lasts so dam long!
Honestly i would recommend the M1 air to anyone who wants a day to day laptop. Unless you either hate mac OS. or NEED windows. There really isnt any reason to look elsewhere.
is it ok for video editing or it gets too hot ?
i got a macbook air m1 for christmas 2021, best computer i’ve ever had.
MBA m1 is the best machine I ever owned. I am happy with it 🙂
I bought my M1 MacBook Air for DJing and music production. Has been great. I did max it out with 16GB RAM and 2TB SSD so I could do all my work on the internal drive, but found a good deal on the apple refurb store.
Ive been able to simultaneously dj (with video) and route that output into OBS to livestream to twitch on the same device, while running two smaller programs that allow me to use my dSLR as a webcam, green screen the dj video output to OBS and simultaneously record the video feed to my drive while also recording the audio only, separately in dj software. The laptop gets only mildly warm in this situation and never runs hot. Have done this a few times for about 1-2 hours each time.
It also runs Ableton very well and I can run way more plugins and instruments at the same time, with ease. Demanding plugins like massive X are super snappy now and I don’t have to think about having to freeze tracks to wav if I want to do more.
I’m so happy with this laptop, I just ordered a second one from the refurb store again
this guy is good
Why are you yelling, you are blowing out that mic
