The big miss here IMO is just the reliability of these MacBooks. MacBooks from 2011 are still running just fine. Show me an XPS from 2011 that still even runs. .

If I was all the other laptop makers id be very worried. This is just M1 and it’s destroying the other brands in performance and battery life. I don’t know but I get the feeling Apple Silicon is a bigger moment in Tech then we understand right now.

Speed is not everything. Windows is! Every time I go back I say: “Oh, now I am at home!” And I love touch screen! I should never buy a Macbook! Well, I have a mini mac, a1, just to have a change. But … then when I go back to windows: oh, home, sweet home!

Good for mac, sad the part of connectivity!. I bought a intel 11 gen for thunderbolt 4. Connectivity is a plus on small ultra portable laptops. You can used like a full desktop with just one cable.

This is not much of a competition. Intel is old hat, they are struggling to compete with anyone frankly. What confounds me is why don’t Dell and HP put the best processors in the top of the line Laptops? Is it some contractual BS? I am the market for a AMD processor (they are the best IMO) but I have to settle for a second level machine to do it. I wish these makers would wake up.
Apple has a really good product on its hands though. Just needs a styling update.
