If you had told me a month ago that I would find a laptop that would make me want to ditch BOTH my Pixelbook (web browsing) and iPad Pro (everything else), I would have said, “I doubt that”. Well, my (beautifully gold) M1 MacBook Air has done just that. I’m blown away. It even sounds better (albeit marginally) than my iPad Pro – which I didn’t think was possible. I’m a total MacBook Air convert for the foreseeable future.

Should anyone be buying a windows machine right now since windows 11 is going to require new hardware to run? I read that windows 10 is only being supported through 2024

Mac is better, faster too, plus better display, Dell only is worth it with OLED, but thats like $1,700 I rather get the pro lol…. This comes from a guy who loves his PC, but when it comes to laptops, I don’t have any OS preference, laptops are only good for their purposes, Mac has great selection of Apps for that.

Local computer store had the newest model XPS 13 for $400ish less than what I would’ve gotten a new MacBook Air for, looks like I got a very good steal!

I’m not even a Mac guy, but the MacBook Air is clearly the best value in laptops today. Unless I had some specific requirements to run certain Windows software, I would get the MacBook Air without hesitation. The entry level (8GB/256GB) is fine for most people.

3:44 I don’t think youtube reviewers realize how many ordinary people are actually editing videos. Out of EVERYONE I know, a handful of people edit photos and literally no one is editing videos (unless is their job). It’s really not something that the average person will ever even attempt imo.

Coming back to this 9 months later – Parallels now supports M1 and claims to run win10 faster than when virtualised with Intel hardware.

No one will be impressed with you if you open up your laptop and they see the Dell logo. It’s got to be the Mac and people will judge you accordingly. Even if the Dell was better and maybe it is, for me it’s always going to be the Mac. I love when I’m somewhere like a Café knowing that people can actually see my Mac and I’m sure they think it’s a quality brand, and by extension me. Maybe I read too much into it, but a Dell wouldn’t give me that feeling that everything is complete.

If you are a windows user and want to swap to Macbook, how do you read any of the windows files etc on Macbook?! This has been what has always stopped me from moving over to Apple.

macs outshine every other laptop in every single thing except one crucial one: the ssd. what good is a top tier laptop if you accidentally drop tea on it and can’t recover all your files? i feel like tech gurus aren’t holding apple to account enough on this, it’s life changing and a complete deal breaker and consumers should be 100% aware of this insanity
