Isn’t the display on the Pro better than the air?
Hi Mark – just bought the base model MacBook Air for general use such as web browsing and email usages – will also use for Microsoft Office such as spreadsheets to manage finances and word processing etc. I immediately had buyers remorse due to the RAM not being upgradable (went for 8GB). I know apple do a 14 day out of box refund policy but was wondering if you think I’ll ever really need the upgraded 16GB model?
Thanks!
Great video ! But too long
Is it still worth it to buy one today?
☕😊🤣
I sit in hard disagreement in regards to RAM. It’s really not hard to go over 8GB with mild, every day tasks like internet browsing. Just between Youtube in Safari and Discord, I can hit 9-10GB of RAM usage after a few hours on the M1 Pro, with YouTube taking up 4GB of that by itself. If I jump over to any other browser, I’ve gotten Youtube to use 8GB of RAM by itself after only a few hours. If you’re the type of person that has something like that running for background noise, or you don’t restart your PC or browser often, you’ll be hitting the wall where MacOS starts putting stuff into SWAP, which can and does hinder performance.
IMO, the 8GB option shouldn’t even be available on anything but the most bare bones models if it isn’t upgradable.
Can you update in light of m2??
M1 16gb or m2 8gb??
Thanks. Most honest reveal so far. I just started making lyric music videos and my old PC just freezes after loading up the videos from my camera or phone.
What kind of a hub do you use? Thank you, I’m on a budget! 😊
The reason I didn’t get an 12.9 in iPad Pro is because I knew I’d be getting the MacBook Air M1. Instead I got a iPad mini Gen 6 for my tablet consumption.
Using android studio might need you to use the 16gb ram.
Someone mentioned something about you leaving it on. You don’t have to shut it off as the system will power down itself and go into a sleep mode kind of and then when you open the screen it’s ready to go. Is that right? I shutdown my Chromebook when I’m through for the night, so I won’t have to do that with the MacBook? What’s your take on this?
