What font do you use in your thumbnails?
Gaming with e-gpu please
is it worth it to upgrade the RAM to 16GB for video editing?
So fan noise is loud on this Mac ????
Compared to 2018 model
128GB is not good. I agree 256GB should be the minimum.
this would be a good choice if apple didnt try to rip off consumers with a non upgradable 128gb ssd and then try to charge $200 just to upgrade to 256gb… the fuck you can buy a fast 1tb 4x lane nvme ssd on amazon for under $200
DDR3 ram”? How can Apple get away with this on a $1200+ laptop
I’ve used macs for years, but their pricing is ridiculous, no matter which way you look at it. In the UK market, this machine starts at £1299 with 8gb ram and 128gb storage. Any media based work is going to require you upgrade both of these, so jumping up to 16gb of ram and 512gb of storage (which is pretty conservative in 2019) brings the price up to a whopping £1879. That’s an additional up-charge of £580 for 16gb of ram and 512gb storage! If you don’t need the upgrades, chances are that the kind of work you’re doing is actually more Macbook Air territory. The Pro’s look like incredible machines, but I think people have lost sight of how much money they’re forking out for how little they’re getting back.
To anyone reading this, will the extra ram upgrade be worthy enough? I will mostly use it for coding as I’m a student of Computer Science. Thanks!
If 256gb was standard, then I would say it is a good deal. Currently it’s slightly overpriced.
Hey Luke! I’d appreciate if you yourself or a friend of yours could tell a developer’s view. Especially in comparison to e.g. Mac mini, since they are in about the same range (yes plus SIX cores and display and keyboard).
Luke my 2011 15” mbp is getting stuck at the Grey screen or stopping halfway through the boot progress bar. It will occasionally boot up normal and work, though. So I’m not certain this is the infamous gpu issue. I love my Mac so much! What do you think? Is there a way to be certain it’s gpu fail?
ok, WHY even get a PRO model of something if it’s ONLY going to be the BASE model!?! that makes no sense if you think about it. WHY NOT get a MAXED out model of something else instead? I’d rather drive a FULLY LOADED CAMARO than a base model CORVETTE any day.
So this is good for Final Cut Pro?
Cheapest? Are people insane or just brainwashed to believe this bullshit Apple wants you to believe? $1,300-1,200 (Student discount) ain’t cheap for a laptop and I couldn’t care less if I have the money to buy it. I can get something way better from HP or Dell for $800-900
8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory
What?
This is a kick in the teeth if, like me, you just bought the dual-core model a few months ago
Gaming? You make me laugh.
So the latest 1.4 GHz Intel cpu on the MacBook Pro is the better option than the more expensive 2.4/2.8 GHz version
I have the 2016 2GHz one with the i5 without the touchbar is it worth the upgrade?
