I just got mine this afternoon. I am replacing my 2018 MacBook Pro 15 inch. I have been running the data transfer and my old MacBook has gotten extremely hot and my new one has stayed around room temperature. This will be a great replacement. Not to mention, I paid over $1,000 less than my 2018 was.

It’s a nice computer but the value is poor. I got an i7 2018 Touch Bar 16/500gb last week for $370.

unless I missed it in another review…. finally a comparison of the screen contrast between the new air and the 16 pro! this is a tough decision. I love the inky blacks of the 14 and 16 pro but I love this 15 inch form factor . ugh Is the response time of the screen better than the 16 pro?

I’m sold! The perfect laptop. I currently have a 15-inch mid-2012 non-Retina as my main laptop, and M1 Ultra Mac Studio as the desktop. I don’t really need an updated laptop. If I did, I’d be all over this.

Great insights Luke! I’d like to see a comparison with the 14″ MBP. My parents need new MacBooks and with 16GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, the 15″ is 500 SGD less than the 14″ where I live. Which do you think would last the longest? (my mom still uses the 2012 15″ unibody)

Sometimes I still use my i9 Intel 16in MacBook over my 14in MacBook because it has a similar form factor as this new 15in MacBook. 16in Intel MacBook is kind of a halfway house between the 15in Intel he compared and the new 15in Air. 16in Intel has a non-butterfly keyboard and physical escape key, which is most of the 15in Intel’s MacBook’s problem. It only gets hot or loud when you tax it with multitasking multiple applications, not just web browsing. It’s still fast enough to do any day to day task for most people. But the 16in Intel is heavier than the new 15in Air

I just got mine in the mail and I fkin love it! I have been waiting for this for years! Big screen, good speakers, and so damn light. Still, though, I am shocked by how much bigger the 16 is compared to it.
