Apple still have the refurbished M1 Pro, 16Gb RAM, 512Gb SSD 16″ MacBook on their US website for $1929 and a new M2, 15″ MacBook Air with the same RAM and SSD comes in at $1699 so there is still a case to be made for the older model but I must admit I probably would have gone for the 15″ Air instead of the 16″ Pro if they’d both been out last year.

possibly the greatest computer design but 8gb ram being standard is unacceptable these days. I know for casual users that’s fine but the M2 is not a ‘casual’ cpu, it’s extremely powerful.

ITS PERFECT!!!! we waited 10 years for this, an its an 8-core….. it was just a few years ago when we had to pay 2399 just for 6-core on a pro. THIS IS EPIC!!!

SOMEBODY (how about you?) has to look at the 2021 MBpro’s speakers blowing out. EVEN when they haven’t been overdriven. PEASE!!!! I have a 14 MB Pro. They want $728 to replace one effin speaker.

You can’t upgrade or replace the SSD or the memory. If either fail, your investment and data are probably toast. Over any reasonable product lifetime you will probably want to upgrade the RAM and SSD especially as the capacity, speed and value all tend to increase. Apple denies you the benefits of technological; advances. This is a deal breaker for me. The real value for most users is much less than you imagine.

It’s a smart cycle to have 13 with new tech and then 15 later with tested stuff with price decrease. Gives opportunity for different upgrade focus for each and customer a bit confused or even upgrade twice 😀

I would buy the 15” MacBook Air cause I love the idea but no Liquid Retina XDR display with 120hz makes the 16” worth it for me.
It is the best MacBook design ever made in my opinion

apart from the base model is unusable… so you have to get the 16GB RAM and 256GB is not enough either so now your at pro levels with less ports, worst screen tech, worse speakers, and worse performance. So congrats, you spent more for a less capable laptop.

The only time the Mac will be perfect is when you can upgrade your storage and RAM then the Mac will be perfect until then I would never buy one because they cannot be serviced SSD and Ram can fail and it’s an absolute disgrace in the day and age that we’re living when the population is increasing and resources are limited the Apple are still throwing out machines that can’t be upgraded on the fly
