Great video. If m1 14” pro 16/512 model is similar price (on sale) as base 15” MacBook Air, which one would you suggest to go with? Nothing pro usage but more of a machine that would be good for some time to come.

The 16″ speakers sound almost muffled and the 16″ display looks washed out in whites and the blacks don’t look as black. 8:25 8:14, see how bright the white is. 8:35 look at the blacks and whites there. Based on your audio and video.
Apple can make more money by releasing it first with the M2 chip and refreshing it later with the M3.

I haven’t bought a brand new MacBook in many years. This is the machine that will probably change that for me. It’s got enough performance and screen real estate at just the right price point. Thanks for the video with the comparisons.

13:18 Releasing 15″ inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip is obviously a tactical move by Apple to catch the back-to-school wave, where students (new and existing alike) will hunt for their next laptop for the upcoming school year in Aug/Sept. It’s better than releasing this device much later with the M3, which will most likely be available at the end of 2023 or in 2024

At 12:00 You just gave me an idea, but now I would be curious to see how well this new 15″ macbook air performs when compared to the older Intel 15″ and 16″ Macbook Pro 2019 models.

I have no doubt the new M2 performs much better than the older Intel ones, but because the pro models does have two fans and a dedicated graphics, I would think performance would theoretically still be better for longer sustained performace (Despite the loud fan noise and hotter temps) while the Air would thermal throttle more because of the fanless design.

If this laptop can still sustain better performance than the older Intel 15″ and 16″ Macbook “Pro” 2019 models, then this would be one of the best investment laptops to buy for most people even though this is marked as an Macbook “Air”. But I’m curious to see if you can test and compare the gpu and cpu performance under heavy loads.

I wish someone would review the keyboard. I’ve never even seen a MacBook in real life. I love the dished keys, and feel of my Legion 5 Pro 16 keyboard. Does anyone know how a MacBook compares?

If I was to replace in few weeks/months my adored M1 13 MBA, I bet this is the one I would pick.
Given how sublime my own M1 MBA still is, I will wait until the M3 15i version comes out, or even later.

I’m not super fond of the size of this MacBook Air 15″ ((the Air imo loses a bit of that extreme portability that made it unique here)), but objectively speaking this model is gonna be the ideal choice for all those users who want a big screen but cannot afford the Pro 16″ – or who simply don’t need that much power. 🙂

I can’t decide between this and the 14 MBP – been thinking it through for months, since the 15 MBA rumours began! I’d prefer 16GB and 512GB that makes more sense in the MBP – price-wise. To me that config would be a 5 year-plus keeper.
