Apple wants to milk the lightening cable with its accessories
yes finally usb c!
Apple Fanboy: Boooooooo! Proprietary Cables FTW.
About time
Apple will find another way to charge you
Meh, I’m sure the phones will go portless soon, then Apple will be made fun of, only for their competitors to follow suit like always.
I wish they added it on Iphone 14
can’t wait till apple invents the USB C
The only reason why Apple has lagged behind in converting the iPhone to USB-C… Money. They make hundreds of millions of dollars (or more) each year requiring people to buy dongles.
Old news
The crazy thing is that Apple helped create USB-C
As an Android user, I think it’s a good idea. I was actually going to give the iPhone a try this year, but as soon as I remember that it uses a different charging standard, it made me think twice.
Apple will provide donkey for European hypocrisies who trying safe the world.. what a joke!! Do people still believe in government these days? If so.. those are truly illiterate.
The most stupid idea. It is supposed to be a free economy. Let consumers decide and let companies innovate.
Amen!! Tied of the Lightning cable
Apple 🍎 please just do the right thing and stop fighting simple
Great idea!
I have used android for years. every device I have charges with type c. now job and I have an iPhone. I had to buy lightning cables and it’s a pain having 2 types of cables. I’m all for this. iPhone would benefit with type c ports.
Ironically, Apple co-developed USB-C with Intel to battle the low power, slow performance of other USB plugs like micro-USB and USB-B. This wasn’t ready for market the time iPhone 5 was released. So Apple had to make a decision on how to get rid of the low and slow power of the 30-Pin connector. In fairness to Apple, they did intend for the Lightning port to be a decade endeavour. They just haven’t followed through with that yet. But it really is time for all mobile phones and computers to have at least a common power connector. Plus, Lightning is so much less structurally rigid than USB-C.
This does seem to stop competition and thus reduce/stop innovation in cable technology
