Instead of cramping all these specs in an iPhone 8’s body, why can’t they pack it in a iPhone 8 plus’s body and call it a day?
I mean, “how much more” it gonna cost?🤷

Apple is smart AF. They can get old people or people who don’t care and just want an iphone to buy this iphone (which is a lot of people out there), They can reuse the part. For people who are tech saavy will be force to buy their upper range iphone. in either way, apple can retain or get more users for their iphones and lure them more into the apple ecosystem.

I think an iPhone SE using the iPhone 8 Plus design would help solve the phones inherent limitations – better battery life, bigger screen, dual cameras, no major manufacturing changes needed by apple.

If they wanted to use an older body to make it cheaper they could’ve went with the 8+ body
That alone well make a place for a bigger battery, a second camera, and a little bit better screen
But its just apple being apple

This is not a cheap phone by any means…had they sold it around 25,000 rupees (around 300 dollars)..it might have made sense for a few people here in India who badly want an iPhone but can`t spend more than 30k…but that probably wont happen atleast for the next 2 years. iPhone 11 or 12 mini makes a lot more sense than this..especially during sales. I switched from my iPhone 6 plus to a Realme GT Master Edition for 21k after almost 7 years of using iPhones exclusively and the midrange segment of Android is literally going crazy.

Yeah that headroom thing is crap. I literally switched from an S9+ to a pixel 6 after owning it for 3+ years and it still performed like day 1*. Battery life was terrible as expected but I literally only upgraded because I felt like. I gave it to my sibling and it’s plenty fine for him.

I got the 2nd gen SE last year, and despite it’s shortcomings (battery life mainly), I really enjoy it. It’s my first iPhone, and for someone like me who just wants an affordable way to enter the ecosystem, I don’t think the SE is a bad choice at all.
